I think Pruitt was in way over his head from the git, he knew it and didn’t what to admit it out loud or to himself, long before most of us fans wanted to admit or face it. It’s a shame and was a breaking point to a lot of fans, me including. 😞. I can still be counted in the sunshine pusher category and carry my Vol fan card with pride, this is going to be a long butttttttt, I’m having a hard time to have much interest in football. (That’s rough for me).

The worst thing that you can do in any relationship is hold the new person responsible for the wrongs of the predecessor.

The stain is being removed from our Vols. I bring glad tidings.

Snap and clear. Look upon the new with a fresh unsullied gaze.

Do not let the past ruin your future. Optimism reigns supreme in the glad heart.

Purge the past from your system. Give your all for Tennessee today!

We need you. VFL means just that. It also means more than any other collegiate fanbase has a claim to. Our Volunteer spirit has changed the past and determines our future. Our mascot isn’t some animal that was just picked. Our mascot is the embodiment of everything that is great about the human race.

Just think of our team running through the T. It should give you chills and lift your spirit.

I am VolsDoc and I am a VFL! Join me in rejoicing.

NFL record means nothing for college coaches.

And I’m not upset GS isn’t here but the dude is a good college HC. In the 20 years before he arrived at Rutgers they never won more than 7 games. He did it 6x from 2001-2011 with two 8 win seasons, two 9 win seasons, and an 11 win season. Had Rutgers of all places consistently winning football games.

Now who’s got selective memory 😁

Offense will be good and the defense will be average. We’ll be good on the DL and in the secondary

We do have some quality DL but I just do t see a game changer yet on that group. I think we will once again struggle to generate a pass rush. This will put more pressure on the secondary to hold up. Our LB core wasn’t good last year. Now it’s inexperienced. And our coordinator hasn’t called plays in a bit. I am more than a little concerned about that side of the ball. If Garner can get a pass rush going though then that could be all we need to get the D turned around. He was a big hire. But still a tough task

Idk, the only position I feel like we are thin at is LB, our DL and secondary is returning a lot of guys and should be solid

To your point:

ESPN has us ranked 117 for returning production, 103 on offense, and 107 on defense. It may be interesting to focus on what is driving those rankings.

On offense we return 28% of our passing yards, 46% of our receiving yards, and 14% of our rushing yards.

On defense we return 81% of our secondary production, 94% of our defensive line production, and 27% of our linebacker production.

We return 51% of our wide receiver yards, 100% of our TE receiving yards, and 6% of our running back receiving yards.

edit to add - Just a reminder that the DL this year has a different job than it had in Pruitt's defense. In Pruitt's defense the DL was supposed to keep the blockers off of the linebackers. In Bank's defense the DL will be attackers.. Their production with the change in mission will likely DOUBLE what they had with Pruitt and the production of the linebackers will come close to being cut in half. We are loaded on the DL at every position and in some spots we go 3-deep and with the best coach on the staff. We're going to have an awesome defense. jmo.

ESPN hates us also.
