Definitely not a fan of us and that is fine. I think he tries very hard to dig up bad news and be the first to post it.
Old beat writer. Not sure he has an agenda other than just to find news, not his fault most of it is negative these days. Issue I have is the ego stroke he gives himself being Mr Usleless factoid guy.

There are 30 NBA Temas. Each with a max roster size of 15.

That means 450 NBA players exist at any given time.

Most teams play 10-11 deep. So about 338 players that actively see playing time.

Average career length is 5 years.

60 players are selected via the draft each year.

Which is a near exact equivalent replacement for the number of players that see playing time vs average career length. We can assume the remaining players are acquired via free agency.

Lastly, the ratio of undrafted players that become all stars is very near zero. I believe it’s actual zero this year. Similarly, all-stars taken outside the lottery is also very low.

So no, it does not appear they get it wrong. It appears you just have a misunderstanding about the math. You believe there is a high number of “busts” when it’s just a crowded league.

If there were so many “busts” as you say, there would be this natural vacuum of undrafted or late round picks that were all-stars or star level contributors and that’s just not the case.
Ok...you did nothing to change my mind.

Heupel has the offense to win games, it's proven. He's got actual HC experience unlike Pruitt, he knows how to manage a team. He's been in the SEC. He knows he it all starts up front in this league. 4 and 5 star guys in offense will be swarming here before too long. Defense doesn't have to be perfect, but it will be aggressive attacking and fun to watch. Looking at the schedule, we should and WILL win 8 games this year.
We might win eight, but if we do it will be an absolute monster coaching job. This team is so discombobulated...with so many huge holes and massive thin spots that you have to be either a unrealistic unyielding a**hole or a freaking moron to expect 8-4

Yeah...I think we have outstanding talent at a couple of positions, but even that talent is unproven and inexperienced, and it won't be near enough to cover all those huge holes...like I said..sooooo discombulated...thanks Pruitt and Fulmer...🤬🤬🤬 I hope you ingrates rot.

I refuse to burden this new staff with any kind of expectations, it will be a miracle if they are able to pull this massive rebuild off in less than five years...if they can pull it off at all. I think they are good coaches, so I think they can given some common sense patience.

As absolutely moronic that I think it is for the NBA to draft kids like KJ that have shown almost nothing to warrant it except being able to jump really high and move really quickly...he just has to go if they are really going to do it.

NBA part, I agree with. But if you think that’s all KJ has shown then what have you been watching? He’s got one of the better floaters on the team, consistently can get to the rim whenever he drives, and has shown the ability to defend all over the court. If anything most scouts will see a kid who was under utilized and has plenty of potential to become a constant contributor at the next level.

My initial assessment after this hire was similar to yours I think. I thought it was possible recruiting might drop to a 50-year low. As the staff filled out I was encourage with the hires of Garner, Burns, Jean-Mary, Mack, and Banks because we were landing guys with recruiting ability. One of the complaints UCF fans had about JH was in their view recruiting under JH was trending down. After first listening to him I could see why that might be. He comes across to me more as a geometry teacher than a head football coach. Still, I thought with the staff hires he was building staff strength in an area that he himself might be weak in. That provided some hope.

The average tenure of a head coach for an FBS football team is 3.8 years. 12 of the 14 SEC schools have replaced their coaching staffs at least once since 2015, some more than once. I gave and still give JH about a 15% chance of being successful here. That’s my expectations.

When I was a very young kid every week when the polls came out in the newspaper I’d sit down and go through them and any football magazines I had for reference, first to see where we were ranked and then to figure out if any of the teams ranked ahead of us were playing anyone that week where they could hopefully lose so we could move up. In 10 days I’ll be 65 years old. I’ve been at this for over 50 years and there’s only ever been one team that I cared about in college football.

I’ve been with my Dad on the way to a Spring game where we totaled our car and after getting done with the police report made our way back home and got mom’s car and still made it to the game. I was there when the artful dodger was carried off the field to the hospital. I can still feel the electricity in Neyland when after halftime he came running out of the tunnel onto the field to resume the fight. He had 2 broken legs, 4 cracked ribs, was in a full body cast, and was bleeding profusely from the shoulder of his throwing arm. He wasn’t going to quit and neither was I, never.

I was in Neyland in 1984 with 3 friends from Alabama for the TSIO. As the game was winding down Alabama was in firm control. It looked hopeless. I remember thinking at the time we’d literally need a miracle to comeback. I’m talking the real thing here not some good luck. I swear – Tony Robinson and Johnny Jones did just that. It was the best ride home from Knoxville I ever had in my life, to this very day. I still can’t believe they pulled it off but they did.

For the second straight season, Jones scored what would be the winning touchdown in Tennessee's game against Alabama. With the Vols trailing 27–20 with less than five minutes remaining, Jones' teammate Andre Creamer returned a punt to the Alabama 11-yard line, and Jones scored from a yard out two plays later. Robinson scored the two-point conversion on a fake pitch to Jones to seal the win for the Vols, 28–27.

I was there with my son for Peyton's first spring game. We were discussing the QBs as we left the stadium and he thought Jerry Colquitt was the better QB. I seriously considered making him walk home. He was young. We all made mistakes when we were young.

My dad passed away in 1982 but my mom was around for 12 more years. I remember the time she gathered me and my brothers together to tell us that she wanted to see one last game at Neyland. It was getting increasingly difficult for her to get around so she would need our help. We had 2 cars of people make the trip. We went to the student center, the book store, her favorite place on campus to eat. It is one of the best memories of Tennessee football I could ever have. I can’t even begin to remember who we played that day. I just knew in our family we’d won in a blowout.

Right now my most realistic honest to God expectations for our 2021 football season is
15-0

👏👏👏👏👏

Anyone else surprised Hype named 3 standout WRs so far - Tillman, Jones Jr, and Calloway?

Curious if he is pumping up guys or Hyatt and Wideman are being quiet so far? Either way seems like great news for depth. We already know Hyatt is the real deal. Wideman has plenty to prove, but his raw talent is undeniable.

😥. I had this reaction reading your post, because it reminds me of how and why I love watching our Vol kids through the years. The memories. I want that for our younger Vol fans, so I can do the same on their memories.

Hyatt is limited with a hip flexor. Isn’t doing much. Wideman is also limited
