FWIW, I think they will play some basic coverages to just contain opponents until they have time to recruit guys who fit into what they want to do. So don't expect anything exotic for awhile.

You might be right, but that would go against everything Heupel has said to this point. He’s talked about attacking, causing turnovers and creating more possessions for the offense.

I don’t think it looks that bad..... basically same as last year since Bryce was hobbled so much..... I’m hoping if they are able to bring more pressure..... it will help our secondary even more.....we will be starting 4 seniors and 1 junior...... can’t beat that for experience.

I could easily be wrong. I just think CJH will be going the Mizzou route more than the UCF route since he's in the SEC now. That's how they played it there - pressure up front and contain on the back end. A lot of zone coverage.

Most TO's in the passing game are created by pressure on the QB and not so much on coverage disguise. That's also how he went about it at UCF. When they had a full roster in 2019 they disguised coverages better to go with the pressure and held opponents to 199 yards on average in the passing game. In 2020 when they had so many opt outs and injuries they still had the good pressure, but their coverage stunk at 299 yards per game. They didn't have it together on the back end so they played contain. I don't think we will have it together on the back end for a year or two.

Will see. He may throw caution to the wind if they gel better than anticipated.

A side note - I was an 8th grader on our HS JV team when Schmidt, who was a senior on Fairview HS's (Dayton area) team played our varsity. He was a SS in HS and was awesome. They destroyed our guys. We all thought he would go straight pro out of HS, but he went to Ohio U and got them into the CWS before getting drafted.

Won’t be surprised one bit. Fits this offense perfectly. This staff is more willing to deal with an aggressive mistake. I think people forget how good he looked in the short time he was healthy as freshman

I had a similar experience taking part I of the medical boards. Two 8 hour days of testing. After day 1 lunch, an hour into the test, my lunch wanted out. I fought for 30 minutes. Answering 4 hours worth of questions in 90 minutes. I actually read every single question... I have never read that fast.
Ran to the front to turn in the test and also barely made it to the bathroom. The strain caused an internal hemorrhoid to bleed and I thought that I was dying cause the toilet water was blood red (small amount of blood makes a gallon water look scary ).
The funny part was when I arrived to start day 2 of testing, I was immediately surrounded by a mob of medical students demanding that I share my secret of fast test taking. They would not believe that I had food poisoning. They thought that I was some kind of evil genius who had all the answers already

Agreed. My brother-in-law is a Bama fan (nice guy; not a jerk). He says he's stopped watching the regular season games because they are boring. He tunes in towards the end and watches the SEC championship and playoff games. He actually thinks the sport is uncompetitive and less fun than it used to be. I agree!

I personally think Bama should have an asterisk next to their name for every title they won in the playoff era because I think the system is broken and is biased in the favor of the teams at the top (Bama; Clemson; Ohio State, etc.).
