I'm sure the coaches are concerned about LB because there's no guarantee about the resolution of the suspended players' case. While KPD arrested the players on misdemeanor drug charges only, UT has an active case on the burglary and simple assault, and that investigation is ongoing.

The incident report triggers multiple violations of the Student Code of Conduct, which could come with more serious disciplinary actions. The internal case and its disposition is not up to the coaches or UTAD, and the outcome might not be the same for all players. When/if the players return really hinges on UT's internal investigation.

This is where I wish we'd emulate Alabama.

Does he have many friends on the team? Seems to me he’s ducking out on any would be friendships he has.

Hopefully, all the players want to win and want whatever increases the odds of winning as much as possible as soon as possible. I can't imagine they see him as the team leader people thought he would be, but I'd guess most of them, like the coaches, think he could help the team at a position of need.

Instead of going snark on Allbright, it would be nice to support a Tennessee kid giving his all for Tennessee. We need more of that mentality and less of the Henry T/Couch mentality. The coaches wanted to give him a look because he played it really well in HS. It harms nobody on here or the program if he does.
I remember when fans used to love a situation like this.

Bowling Green is TERRIBLE. Not losing that one.

Yep - Bowling Green is a bottom 10 FBS football squad. Their defense gave up 45 points a game last year (2nd worst behind Kansas), with the offense not much better. If we're not sloppy or completely out of sync on O, we should hang close to 60 on them. Gunna guess like 56-14 type game.

Aren't you just the bearer of good news?

That’s great. But the reality of this situation is we are going to get run through like goose $*** if our linebacker hopes fall on the long snapper.

I just wanna say that I really admire Heupel for willingly taking on this job. I doubt he’ll do any better than any of the other coaches we’ve hired since Fulmer, but I admire the gumption. Takes some self-confidence to think the Tennessee HC position will end in anything other than ignominy.
I really admire CJH for being a determined, self-confident winner throughout his playing and coaching career. He obviously sees the potential Tennessee has to return to its glory days again with the right head coach and athletic director. He obviously believes that both him and DW are capable of doing that. He obviously is not suffering from BVS like some.

Only thing I don't really like about Heupel's QB teaching is how he teaches them to plant their feet before throwing. Triggers my JG-PTSD. I want light feet not heavy feet. Doesn't have to be the jittery hopping around like Peyton, but I like at least a soft bounce like Brady or Rodgers.

Had a different ring to it when we were regularly competing for Atlanta and they beat out a five-star incumbent. Fielding a long-snapper at Lb1 due to lack of numbers... ☹️
Guess I'm too old. Or maybe competing only for Atlanta made everything else meaningless. Then the playoffs made even more things meaningless..... At least there was a time when the players wearing O&W were not ridiculed.
