I hope Keon goes. He’s a consensus top 10 pick on every site you look at. Scouts love him. He will instantly become a multi millionaire. You only come back to improve your draft stock. He does not need to come back. Top 10 is as high as it gets in the sport. You just go and develop against the top talent in the world. You have the best trainers and coaches in the world. You have access to the best facilities in the world. I’m sorry but a college coach isn’t going to improve your game like an nba team could. They have a team to worry about while these NBA teams are billion dollar companies that soul focus is to develop players. Keon needs to go pro and most importantly manage the money he will earn well.

Or he can just follow Jaylen Brown's career arch who his game most resembles at this point. Work on his game for the first 2-3 years, explode in the final year of his rookie contract, become a max player. He doesn't need to shoot 30% from 3 in college another year to become a superstar NBA player. The league can teach him to become a better shooter than college can anyways
This is what I don't get. People talk about returning to develop, for someone already a lottery pick, makes no sense. Replace classes and limited practice time with unlimited time playing basketball. It's not even close.

Because most fans compare it to football and the NFL where instant production is expected much more out of top 10/1st RD picks. A player can get drafted that high in the NFL and instantly become a top 10 player at their position.

Doesn't work the same in the NBA where draft prospects are younger and have much more room for development. The first couple years are mostly for growing their game and coming into their own as a player unlike the NFL. The NBA is also such a different game compared to college basketball whereas the NFL and college football are much more similar

I wish the NBA did what MLB does. If you are drafted out of HS, great (NBA or G League.) If you go to college, you stay 3 years!

It's just reality. Look at the 4 and even some 5 stars sitting on the bench at Bama and Georgia...
Then go cheer for them...that should make you feel better since you worship their programs so much..

We have had a bad decade, but we have been..and will be again..a all time top 10 program. All we need is some real players that will bleed orange, players that will truly give their all to Tennessee to come in and we will be back.

Pruitt had the resume to sell that hope for a while. People believed he had the ability to Phoenix this program from the ash pile, and players thought he was their ticket to the next level.

Henry T has not built a relationship with this staff. He spent the least amount of time possible in Knoxville when he came to campus to take his exam and was not involved in team activities. He would rather be elsewhere.
This may have been asked already but what is the risk for Gray and HT playing for anyone this year? If they're deemed ineligible, due to recruiting violations, wouldn't the team that plays them have to forfeit any game they play in as an ineligible player? I have a hard time believing that any team with National Championship aspirations would take on that risk.

I have zero problems with KJ and JS taking the money. Perfectly understand that you seize the moment when it comes around. They just need to make sure they are mentally, physically and emotionally prepared for what comes next. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Have a Plan B just in case.
