Do you have a close relationship with someone on the team with firsthand knowledge of what we are talking about?

1vol8 isn't completely objective. I don't think he's ever claimed that. He's rooting for Maurer obviously. He believes in him having known him for much longer and closer than any of us. While it may be fair to acknowledge his bias... it isn't intelligent to dismiss the core of what he's saying. He likely does KNOW more than you or me at least from Maurer's perspective. Would it help to have "the rest of the story" from Chaney, Pruitt, and others? You bet. We don't. That does nothing to diminish the worth of 1vol8's perspective.

Just for the record, I don’t get much info from Brian himself. He just goes with the narrative most of the time. However there is some things I know that most don’t that came straight from the source like the others you mentioned as well as second hand, after conversations had with said direct source. Some of my opinions came from Weinke himself as well as Chaney and even Pruitt. Some came from other players or parents. The point is Brian keeps his mouth shut but rest assured that not everyone involved has the same obligations.

If it were only that. He hypes up Maurer’s strengths to cartoonish levels but doesn’t restrain himself in minimizing competitors in the QB race. Bias is one thing, blatant partisanship in the guise of educated objectivity is another...that’s where he gets heat. I never flame him for defending his guy against unfair attacks, but when he inevitably slips into Elite 11 science and NFL legend comparisons he gets a response.

What I do is not “favor” intended. I’m a fan of the truth and despise false narrative. Hence my feelings on the services and media. Probably don’t want to get me started on today’s political BS.

Like with you or anyone else... it is always best to keep what is reasonable and proven, withhold judgment on things beyond proving but reasonable, and cull the rest.

I have a better relationship with 1vol8 because I show him respect. I believe he has a lot of direct information... which is better than many who claim to be insiders. He has bias. Many others here have as much or more with far less direct knowledge.

He cares about Maurer. He's been a supporter and promoter of Maurer for a long time. I don't hold that against him.

Go hug a tree. 😎 That “one truth” has eluded establishment since the advent of civilization. Millions and millions have died and millions more of friends and family have ceased communication. No final judgement or consensus after all that. So someone glosses their truth at me and I disagree? I gloss back in lieu of calling them a liar.

I hype his strengths up to cartoonish levels? Care to enlighten me when I’ve done that? Because I personally think I keep it real. If your accusations are correct then then that would suggest that I never give credit where it’s due in regards to the others. Although someone posted a video of BM hitting center mass of a goalpost from 70 yards nearly a year ago, I’ve never said his arm strength was as good as JTS have I? Don’t think the thought hasn’t crossed my mind that that may not be true anymore but to assume that JTSs arm hasn’t gotten stronger as well isn’t a fair assumption and therefore never been apart of my posts. If I hyped him up to cartoonish levels I’d NEVER admit a better runner. I’ve done that twice in Hooker and Salter.

So I get heat from you based on your false opinion of me and you feel it’s warranted. However I never seek you out with your constant bullying of posters abroad which is evident and real. I want to be clear here Butchna. I have the upmost respect (as I’ve stated many times before) for your knowledge of the Vols. I even credit you for being somewhat respectful in your criticism of Maurer. However the way you talk to PEOPLE as a whole is the exact reason I don’t back down from you when you seek me out. And if I had to guess, I’d say your Internet personality doesn’t match your real one in face to face debates.

The pursuit of objective truth is the only basis for anything rational or socially coherent. Societies over that time have succeeded and failed in direct proportion to their alignment with "Natural Law"... self evident truth.

You argue here as much as anyone obviously believing you are right. That's insanity if you do not believe what you are saying is "true"... and not just for "you".

Just giving him credit for being diplomatic. I’ve noticed a change in his posting style and I kinda like it. Seems like a guy I don’t mind talking to anymore. Believe it or not even Pulaski before he disappeared began to have civilized conversation.

We’ve had our differences but I don’t hold grudges. Lol. You can be a complete ass to me and then change your tune and all is good. I have this ability to treat people the way I’m being treated in the moment

Lol all I’ve ever said is that Shrout had a better arm than Maurer and I thought Shrout should be playing not JG.

The arm statement wasn’t wrong but Shrout had other issues that he proved he needed to fix. Just like Maurer has things he needs to fix and like now Bailey needs to fix.

Now we have 3 QBs and a Freshman QB who isn’t in the Mix, that all have great things about them but need to fix certain things and this staff is going to coach that. This staff is proven in that area.

So if these guys are going to amount to anything and show improvement it will be under this staff and I am excited to see a “True” QB battle this year. Whoever emerges as the “Starter” is going to do so because they are the best QB at that position.

It’s exciting.
