Tennessee’s Trail of Tears –
2009 – The boy wonder’s lone year with us ended in abandonment.
2010 – Matt Simms was the QB
2011 – Bray and Hunter get injured – Worley tried.
2012 – Sal Sunseri
2013 – No QB
2014 – Josh Dobbs finally takes over
2015 – A bunch of young guys rocking and rolling
2016 – Defensive injuries and to critical guys – not enough depth
2017 – Back to no QB
2018 – Still no QB
2019 – QB musical chairs
2020 – Still looking for a QB
2021 – I think we have a QB – Don’t know which one it’s going to be because we actually have at least 2 legitimate QBs that I think are ready to play and I think we can probably win with either. I prefer Bailey but I think Hooker could get the job done too. I’m not totally ready to call this yet but when Golesh said yesterday that the team rallies around Bailey I took notice. jmo.

This is one of my favorite Hudl videos. The size mismatch is hilarious. The best play is at the 2:48 minute mark. jmo.

I still wonder how our 2016 team would have fared if Botch hadn’t fired Lawson.

If it galvanizes the PosiVOLS and OptiVOLS against the NegaVOLS and “Realists” then I like our chances.

The Negas currently far outnumber the OptiVOLS, but they have shown in the past that they will fold at the first sign of adversity.

When we are 3-0 rolling into the gator game, they will be confused and mill about with no clear direction. Once we steamroll the gators (even by one point🤠) they will be reeling and many will lapse into coma.

When the Vols are 6-0 and headed to Tuscaloosa, regardless of the outcome, we will need to resuscitate the Legion of the Miserable.

As a point of fact, right now we need the Legion to notify VN of their status. Full code? Or DNR? (Do Not Resuscitate) If they don’t tell us prior to kickoff of the first game against Bowling Green, then they are automatically registered as DNR. That’s with full organ donation too.

🤠
😂 Love it! ...but who gets the organs???

While I 100% agree with the curiosity had Lawson (and Jancek) not left...word was Lawson did something himself. No way he was just fired after we went toe to toe with. Bama and...well, everyone. There were definitely rumblings he did something.

I'm sorry but Heupel gets at least 4 or 5 years before we start thinking...maybe this isn't gonna work. If you're wanting this dude gone after 3 years after what all this program has gone through...then you're quite frankly.....stupid.
Some of the guys in here are forgetting about the contract JH signed. He gets an extension for the number of years probation given to us from the NCAA. He'll definitely be around here for 4 or 5 years regardless of his record.

Sticky my post...four years from now you will proclaim me prophetic!

Don’t you Weezer all over my optimism...😎
I hope this staff works out.

Real life has spent the last decade or more smacking me around. And I'm not talking UT football. So I try to stay grounded.

As he should be. We need a coach who is here for the long haul.

Superficial assumptions I’m making about our 2021 football team right now –
  • With Harrison Bailey I think we’ll have one of the very best QBs in the conference this year.
  • I’m assuming everyone on our roster is healthy.
  • We’ll have one of the 5 best offensive lines in the conference.
  • We’ll have at least one 1,000+ yard receiver.
  • We’ll be near the top of the conference for explosive rushing attacks.
  • We’ll be in the top 5 of the conference in defensive lines.
  • We’ll be in the upper half of the conference for pass defense.
  • All of our special teams units will be hot.
With that said, I’ve moved Missouri to the likely win column. The Tigers lost , among other players, their leading rusher, their leading receiver, and Nick Bolton. They gutted their defensive staff and brought in a new coordinator and a couple of new position coaches on that side of the ball. They’re starting over. In what passed for a spring game the consensus of the fans is right now they don’t have any receivers who can catch the ball. Apparently there was a high number of dropped passes. Their defense last year gave up over 32 points per game, 35 to us. If Josh has his offense working we should be able to score more than that this year. jmo.

Y’all acting like Howard was going to be a scrub like Penny. Howard was pretty much a player/assistant coach in the nba on those heat teams forever.

Yep, this precisely. He’s been a big name on the coaching front for a minute. The only question was the transition to the college game, but his advantage there is being a part of the Fab 5. The foundation of the fabric of college basketball today is the Fab 5 and those guys are still rock stars to kids today. He will do well.
