Their admin is worthless. I think Georgetown is bound to the cellar at this point. Sad, really
It is, I remember the first time I saw Georgetown play basketball, pretty sure it was Ewing's freshman year, (1980?). I was around 9 and they were the team I loved to hate, so I became kind of a Syracuse fan. Pearl Washington was my boy, then Derrick Coleman and Billy Owens. Yeah, it is sad, for about a decade they were one of the most feared teams in college basketball. I think Ewing's teams went to like 3 NCAA Championship Games in 4 years, but only won one

Except their fanbase is delusional and thinks that magical Big East tournament in a terrible Big East this year means they’ve turned a corner. Nah, Ewing is a bad coach. He will be fired once they wake up and realize that.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really think they have a true “fanbase”. My dad has a degree from Georgetown and he was delusional about the hire and still is. I think it’s a nostalgia thing. But he’s 1000x more a fan of Tennessee than Gtown. I lived in DC for a little bit and it’s full of so many transplants I never saw any semblance of a “hometown crowd”. If anything Maryland is the hometown team. The biggest Georgetown fan I’ve ever met is actually a bigger Tennessee fan. She went to UT and her dad is the announcer for Georgetown. Maybe part of their problem is they don’t have a sizable and passionate fan base

I actually went to Gtown myself and can pretty much agree with all of this 100%. The fan base isn’t very big and DC is mostly filled with Maryland/UVA fans everywhere. The student base isn’t exactly the most passionate or knowledgeable about sports either lol. All they know right now is the Ewing name and then they see the Big East tournament run they made and think things are back to normal. They mostly have no idea how terrible the regular season was and how bad they’ve been in the recent past. It’s sad cause Ewing is actually pretty nice and JT3 was a pretty good guy before him as well. Some cool guys were on the team when I went there.

Just makes me laugh some more when our fans talk about Barnes disgracing our program when I’ve witnessed an actual fall of a program with my own eyes in person

I just get the feeling Barnes will strike out again.
Well, of course you do.

Barnes having no relationship with this kid, and little time to develop one, at this point, if he goes anywhere other than Tennessee, then it's Barnes's fault.

I swear, some of you go out of your way to find reasons not to like the guy when he provides enough reasons without having to be creative or disingenuous. If you don't like him, his coaching, or his roster constriction, that's fine. I just don't see a reason to manufacture reasons to dislike him. If Tennessee doesn't land this kid, it isn't necessarily a failure on his part. In the overwhelming majority of these transfer cases, kids are going to land at a school where they had a previous relationship to begin with. That isn't on Barnes or any other coach that can't convince him to take a chance without any prior relationship or level of comfortability.

I wish this video had showed more post moves and away from the basket shots rather than just lay-ins and dunks, but the stats he posted this year (at a high major, no less) already had me convinced. We need this guy in a bad way.
Why? A dearth of lay-ins and dunks and the ability to execute either was a huge area of concern of ours for last year, alarmingly so, if I'm being honest. I'm not sure that I have seen a Tennessee team be worse around the rim in my life that this past season's bunch.

There is something to be said for versatility, but he is good at doing exactly what we were not good at doing last year.

That’s true, but many of the shots in that video were uncontested. It doesn’t tell us much about his ability to score against other post players, hence why I want to see more post moves. Those stats don’t lie though. He’s got to be decent at least, probably better than what we have.

Im kinda surprised none of our guys have hit the portal yet with all of these other players hitting the portal.

True...only a minute long, so a little limited view. But looking at his stats, he hit 127 of 215 2-pt shots (59.1%). Shot 67.3% from the FT line, as well. I think it's fair to assume he has some decent moves to score 127 buckets in 26 games. That's about 5 made buckets a game on 8.25 attempts. Unless he's just cleaning the glass up and making garbage buckets, you have to think he has some post moves to average 12.7 ppg.

Jalen Cone is in portal. Wonder if we would possibly look into him since we were a player in his recruitment last go around?

I’d happily take him if he’s turning garbage buckets into 12.7 ppg.

I’ve though Bailey looked a little down at times. Have there been any rumors or anything about him?

Rob Lewis just said look for some TN players to enter the portal sometime very soon, at least 2 maybe 3.
So with plenty of quality players in the transfer portal, and with at least 2 of our own likely to put their names in, what would your pecking order be in terms of transfers that you’d like us to go after? Say that we add BHH to go along with our other two freshmen coming in.

Walker Kessler (considering UT but Gongaza lean)
Qudus Wahab (not sure if UT is involved, would be nice)
Parker Stewart (good chance UT here)

Pember, Walker, Gaines would be my guess

If we can upgrade from Pember and Gaines that will be huge. It is unfortunate though if Walker does leave. I really would have liked to see him here have a chance. I feel like wherever he does go he is going to do well. The kid has a ton of talent.
