We're getting old man. We've been around long enough to see the short shorts become cool again. These guys all saw their dads wear the long, baggy shorts, and of course anything that dad does is uncool by definition, so short shorts are cool again.

Although Smart does take it to another level - I think he tucks his shorts into the compression shorts he wears underneath.
