Keep acting dumb, its all youve got because you have no leg to stand on.
You’re big on this legs and standing thing. Not much else going on. So unless we can prove we demanded CJ Watson be suspended 15 years ago we can’t want Payne to sit more than a partial second half of a basketball game for caving in the skull of one of our own? I’m going to insist on standing in dissent with that proclamation...GENIUS! 😎

No im saying **** happens, he got ejected. Move on.

Payne's carefully scripted "apology" skips right over intent. Neither Payne nor UF are denying it was intentional.

The SEC practices selective enforcement. The conference addresses incidents and issues when it wants to and ignores those it wants swept under the rug. SEC response is often driven by which schools are persistent and determined in their demands and which are not.

There's a way to speak up without being whiny. A player was seriously injured and it could've been much worse. It's reasonable to ask the SEC to step up, address this publicly and show that a player intentionally causing harm to an opposing player isn't going to be overlooked or condoned. That's good for the game.

"Intent" was decided when he got ejected with a flagrant II. It's a weak ass argument. Intent has nothing to do with it.

He isn't getting suspended because UT didn't try hard enough to push for a suspension. It is that simple.

exactly............He hired a quality FB Coach, that hired a quality staff. What else has he needed to do? Ask the NCAA when they will make a decision on any penalties for football..........
Exactly. 😂 I mean we finally have a staff that seems to like each other and who is constantly posting about Tennessee to promote the Football team. I don’t know what more you could want at this moment.

We don’t know what he has done as an AD regarding the recent events that happened to Fulky. But the UT program has done a good job keeping the 3 suspended players stuff out of the news. Which is a win in my book.

Basically lasted 2 days and now no one cares.

Can you prove Payne intended to cause serious harm? Go watch the play again, after the first when Payne turned Fulk attempted to grab the back of Paynes jersey. There is reasonable doubt that Payne wasnt planning on making contact and was just trying to create space. It was a dirty play and he got ejected. Its time to move on.

Agree to disagree. He slung a reckless elbow. Again, no excuse for that crap. I have, however, moved on. Go Vols!

its ******** that this league's leadership has its lips grasped so firmly around the sack of Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. It's so ****ing flagrant and apparent to anyone. It's one reason why many will find other endeavours on Saturdays. The bias in the SEC is terrible, from top to bottom. Sankey is pathetic.

I think our AD could have best handled it this way. Not even bringing his brother into it.

”On the subject of John Fulkersons injury. I have written letters to both the SEC office and the Athletic Director at the University of Florida. I have sought and now seen multiple angles of the incident. It is clear to me and many others that I have spoken with that this situation went way past what is normal during a basketball game. This caused one of my student athletes to have facial surgery. It may have prematurely ended his college basketball career. Therefore, I call upon the SEC and the University of Florida to sanction their student athlete for what he did”.

Agree. After so many times of it happening with no repercussions for doing so it becomes a pointless exercise and waste of time. Sort of been trending this way more and more since Roy Kramer retired. Most corrupt and greedy orgs go this route eventually and kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

I had little problem with Payne’s first elbow. That was almost like normal b-ball.
it was the second elbow that is the problem And broke Fulkys face.

I really thought we would grow a pair under DW’s leadership. Not so far, anyway.

I don’t know, maybe he’s just playing ball until we get out from under the NCAA cloud. Regardless, I haven’t been impressed with his tenure, so far.

Don't care how big our pair is. Just win.

Shoot, Lance Armstrong didn't even have a pair. (Yes we should cheat like him too).

I can see that side of it. But I think it makes us look weak that we just continually accept a clear double-standard without ever putting up a fight. Lot of ways to look at it.
Double standard? UT basketball players threw 1,890 punches at Memphis players, coaches, and newborns a few years ago and received NO PUNISHMENT FOR IT.
