What do you do for a Profession?

Oh yeah. It would have turned him into a burnt hotdog. Pretty sure there is a better way to open a stuck airbrake switch..
But that would have been a boring movie. Besides, I hear about those guys getting electrocuted often, I dare say it's on purpose.

No. The on purpose part.
Well, I only saw it twice and I don't remember anything well enough to argue with you about. I don't know how it could be way off because so many get killed, and it's because they do something they ain't spose to do, like what I done seent in that movie. Twice.

I'm gonna watch it again so I can argue with you next time.

"There are approximately 21 lineman deaths per 100,000 workers. This puts electrical power line installers and repairers at #9 on the top 10 workplace fatality rate list, right behind farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural workers."

Yeah. It's dangerous. You do it long enough and you will have some close calls. Built a few fires in my 37 years in the trade. Came out with all my fingers and toes. Count myself lucky.

In the 90s, I had three bug control guys die within about two years. They were all young and new to the job. It freaked me out bad enough that we quit having them spray inside the house.

Communications isn't my thing. Just wandered off into The Endzone for the first time a few days ago. Been laughing every since.
Do you work for the power company, or do you just fantasize about being a middle-aged Glen Campbell schtupping a young Tanya Tucker?

Without going into a lot of examples, lets just say there are plenty of hidden traps you can fall in to. Sometimes the lineman misses something he should have seen. Sometimes it is equipment failure. Sometimes they loose their focus and do something dumb. Most of the time when these things happen, it snaps you back in reality. Sometimes it takes you out. Powerlines are pretty unforgiving..

I'll go ahead and be the first to warn you. If TheFallGuy starts asking you about your pole, he ain't talking about the power line poles you climb. Bleedat.

I see Tanya as a head case. But yeah retired a few years back. Still go in when something catastrophic happens. Last time was this past easter when a tornado ripped East Brainerd and Ooltewah a new one here in Chattanooga.
