A number of years ago someone on this board remarked that Barnes started falling off at Texas when he had to start relying on 1 and dones rather than players he could develop over time.

The problem with that is that Keon and Jaden are our two best players this year. I think Barnes even publicly said he took guys who thought they were one and done but weren’t coachable. These two we have are coachable.

If anybody has ever wondered how much the offense is going to change under JH look at the new O-Linemen that we are recruiting and compare thier size and star ratings with the recruits from the past.
I think they are "building " OL and not hoping they can find someone to step in and replace them. I may be wrong but if you look around the country most of your successful OL's are made up of Jr's and Sr's that red shirted and have worked at getting better not just a Soph or Fr. thrown in there with the hopes of being good. As far as size they are smaller but I would think faster and quicker. You can make'em big but you can't teach'em to be fast.

I kind of agree. The NCAA is a physical tournament. The teams that do well are tough. This is not a tough team. We're a finesse team.
Tourney is all about getting hot at the right time and matchups. I wouldn’t bet against an inconsistent team that has shown they can be elite

  • “Everything that went on with that program, to me it was was not a surprise what happened. [That was] one of the huge reasons that I made the decision not to stay on board, probably one of the best decisions I made.”
  • “I thought coming home was going to be the right thing, but in hindsight, it ended up being the worst thing.”
  • “Probably the best decision I made was to leave here and get out from under that Pruitt era because I was miserable as a coach.”
  • “I probably did more as a quality control [coach] when I was at UT under Butch Jones and Willie Martinez in my responsibilities and what I was allowed to do than when I came back, which was very disappointing.”
  • “There were a lot of great coaches on that staff. If you allow coaches to do what they have to do to be successful you’re going to get the development from players you’re looking for. I think the reason you haven’t seen many players develop (at Tennessee) is because those coaches hadn’t been really able to take players under their wing and do the things they were brought here to do.”
  • “You (Pruitt) haven’t allowed me to be myself since I’ve been here whether it’s coaching or on the recruiting trail.”
-Fair on coaching under Pruitt
