I don't think that they just started doing what they did...that means they were "sloppy" everywhere else they have been.

It was a power struggle, and that war is the only reason this pile of 💩 ever saw the light of day. The group that "won" enacted the nuclear option to get that win..and the fallout is going to have a long half-life.

I know there is no use bitchin about it now..it is done, but I am not going to ever act like it didn't happen. I hope it works out for the best for us..it will be awhile finding out.
Just my guess, but I would think at Bama they already had a well-established system for funneling money to recruits. I think Pruitt tried to establish that here. I think Nieds got sloppy. Pruitt was responsible for his staff. And if the rumor about the credit card is true, that's really sloppy, and easily traced. So I agree they cheated elsewhere, I just don't think we had the same infrastructure set up as elsewhere, which is to our detriment.

I don't believe that. I think they were doing what they have always done and never expected their own people to do what they did...especially not with Fulmer watching their back.

They probably never believed in a million years that Fulmer would get tossed aside like garbage by Tennessee.

Possible. I just find it hard to believe that they use credit cards at Bama. Lot harder to track cash than a CC.

That sounds like a Tennessee fans point of view..... every other college claims to be a world class education.....have connections.... and a great conference.
I am a Vol fan and make no apologies to you or any one else for being one. You asked what UT had to offer and I told you some valid points. Do the other schools have the same things? Absolutely but what else do want me or anyone else to say? McDonald's bags full of cash, maybe a job and cash for a parent, a new car, a job in the summer working for a booster making cash under the table, if that is what it take is it worth it? You stated that the program was in a mess, will how exactly do you think it got there .

The toxic environment, player unrest, coaches leaving, coaches fired during the game, bags of cash, lack of oversight by the coach that all just happened under the last coach no doubt. Being promised one thing and seeing something else as far as scheme and your future, closed door meetings, treating players different, verbally abusing players and coaches and coming up with some silly slogan that was under the one before that.

Yes it is a mess and yes hopefully things will change for the better but continuing down the same road of doing whatever it takes to get or keep somebody hasn't really proven to be a good strategy for the University, the Team or more importantly the player. Not all players get to pick and choose what successful program they can go too and for many it is at a minimum a step back but these coaches very seldom lose a dime in the long run. So sell them that dream but they had better have something to fall back on when it doesn't come true and that is the harsh reality almost all will be faced with after they leave what ever school they choose to attend, UT or ANYWHERE else.

Ok...let's see how excited we are at the end of next season. I hope just as much as you do that it works out, but I am not delusional enough to expect it.

I appreciate the guys that stick it out, and the coaches that took the job...but we have a big mountain to climb.
Looking forward to football season. We'll learn a lot about this staff and what to expect.

Dude Bama doesn't even try to hide it. It is a professional machine. The only way it ever gets brought to light is a whistleblower, and they don't betray their own. There is no power struggle, no group looking for leverage down there.

From the legal system, to the government, to the media, to the boosters..it is an unbroken unwavering line. I have to give them credit for that.

The bammers have ways of distributing money that would make the mafia stand up and take notice. The REC (Red Elephant Club) has an elaborate, sophisticated way of getting money out to recruits and their families. Don't ask for a link; there are no links to the sh*t that happens in the board rooms and businesses of big time donors at bammer. Albert Means was their wake-up call, just as this shizshow is ours.....let's get it right this time, just as bammer got it right!

I've heard so many different rumors on how this all came to light, I'm not totally convinced on the power struggle angle. But somehow, it did come to light, and Plowman went on a crusade. I still think she could have handled it better. But that's JMO.

But Bama is a machine, which was kind of my point. They don't get sloppy. Nieds got sloppy. If I'm convinced of anything, it's that Nieds got sloppy. If Kirby was prepared to turn us in, Nieds got sloppy.
