Random question for everybody...
If I put the over/under on the number of our best four QBs (Bailey, Hooker, Maurer and Salter) that will still be on the team at the beginning of next season at 2.5. Are you taking the over or the under?
I enjoyed it when this thread was about football and the off topic conversations stayed in the off topic thread. I knew where to come for football discussion and visa versa. The recruiting forums used to be a little more disciplined and why a lot of us came here and stayed away from the FF. C’mon guys, we’re better than this.
Kicking butt at Trivial Pursuit was one of my favorite things to do. Can’t tell you how many answers I got that came from cartoons, especially Bugs Bunny (my favorites if you can’t tell).Scooby was my favorite. It was for my kids, too. In 8th grade history class my daughter said she kept answering questions so the teacher asked her how she knew all that. She said she saw it on Scooby Doo. She would see an episode like the miner 49ers and then research it to find out more.
The thing about Briles is that most people think it is a passing offense, when in reality he wants to run the ball down your throatThe Briles offense, once it got going, was essentially unstoppable in the Big 12, and performed well against OOC opponents in bowl games. Here are Baylor's PPG under Briles:
2008 - 28
2009 - 20.8
2010 - 31.1
2011 - 45.3
2012 - 44.5
2013 - 52.4
2014 - 48.2
2015 - 48.1
Not sure if the slow start and slight regression in year two was due to personnel limitations, or a learning curve for the system, but by year 3 it was showing some results and in year 4 it just exploded and never looked back. With more high schools running this kind of system that Briles essentially invented, hopefully the learning curve won't be a problem for our team. I can guarantee our talent at the skill positions and O-line will be better from the jump than what Briles had when he took over in 2008.
Nobody ever reminded him of that, did they?Broke my leg once playing backyard football. Knew it was broken, but let everyone convince me I was wrong. Tried to stand up to join back in and immediately fell down. No one wanted to believe it was broken until the x-rays proved otherwise, lol.
Could have been worse. My best friend broke his arm after being tackled by a girl.![]()
I’ve skipped over most of the wrestling talk but my two cents is that WWF in the ‘80s was awesome when I was a little kid.
Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Jake the Snake, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Junkyard Dog, Mean Gene, many others, the Saturday morning cartoon...all fantastic.
Do it on the farting or BBQ forums, not the FF......Is there not a kiddie forum or an inane subjects forum for that drivel? Maybe not...I have noticed on occasion that the mods rein some of the rasslin chatter in when it gets out of hand. Maybe you could petition them to set up a fart and rasslin forum for you fellas and put you in charge so that we who are interested in football won't have to navigate through all the gastric disturbance and body slams....Merely a thoughtBecause it's what we want to talk about. We don't just talk recruiting or football here. Some other fun topics include BBQ, farting dogs and lifting people up in prayers who need them.
I miss when being a kid meant jumping on your bike and just riding to wherever with your friends.
He only gets paid if you post here instead of the off topic forum? My bad, I didn’t know that. I was just being nostalgic, same as everyone else.

Remember when every boy from about age 7 and up carried a pocket knife - Pepperidge Farms RemembersWe started a fire in a half buried barrel in the woods behind my house near a creek. We wanted to cook crawfish, which we did. Then I tripped and cooked my left hand. I soaked it in cold creek water for close to two hours before I worked up the courage to go home and show my mom. Then we tried to pass it off that I had hurt it falling out of a tree so she wouldn't know about the fire. Mom was not fooled. lol

Also, I see it as you all creating more work for the mods when they have to come through here to clean up your mess. Kind of like not returning your grocery cart if you ask me.
