Not gonna help my nerves

It's nothing scary. Just like norcal said, like going through a car wash. The smell is strong.

Really the only potential negative is how long it could take. I was able to watch a movie on the ground when it happened to us. It doesn't take long once they start, but it's the waiting in line for your plane's turn since they can only handle so much at one time. I would imagine with less flights right now, it won't be as bad..

This airport is very small compared to Atlanta and Charlotte, so shouldn't be too long I guess

First time I flew was on a Piedmont prop plane. Their prop planes had a horrible reputation. I told Dad I didn't want to get on and he was laughing "Hell son, nobody will be shooting at you!".

Was. My oldest is there now.

When it comes to weather, and we are complaining about the snow or cold, I pull up the Faibanks weather to remind us just how good we have it. In the summer and the complaint is heat, I just have to remember being in Qatar and in being 110 at 9am. Cools me right off.

Great idea. Makes me want to quit my bishing about the cold now (I probably still will). It could always be worse.

It is kinda cool being on a plane when they de-ice it. Like you are going through a really big car wash.

True story - not mine. Flight out of rural Argentina. Snowing. They bring out hot water to de-ice the plane.

Every time I’ve experienced it, we got two car washes. Never understood the science of why two.

Weather is only like the third most common cause of airplane accidents. The first two are pilot error and mechanical failure. Ask the pilot if he's willing to take a sobriety test.
