The whining is bc this is the dude Heup wants. Nobody cares that you want someone with DC experience. You aren’t the HC.

We want the guy bc Heup wants the guy. Pretty simple.

We can certainly question it though. These coaches and ADs aren’t infallible which has been proven true here year after year.

I find it odd that a position coach would not want a chance to (a. Make a lot more money. (b. Have the opportunity to be a DC in the top Conference in the nation. (c. Be able to advance their career while making more money. Lets face it a coach making $400.000 that coaches at UT and gets a $1million or so bucks, even if they fail will do no worse than they are now if they get fired, they'll go right back coaching somewhere else. I don't see how the sanctions looming around here would effect their decision that much. Getting a bonus for production could be worked in by wording of the contract.

Basically if you fail it’s because it was a lose lose situation. But.... IF you win you’re gonna be courted by a lot of teams. NFL teams, head coaching jobs in the P5. The upside from the business aspect far outweighs the negative IMO. Obviously, I don’t think anyone knows his family situation, so there is always that to take into consideration.
