It's also easier to come in strict and then relax things after the strict has been established, rather than let things go as the "way we used to do things."

I don't equate decisions or coaching hires leaking with "dysfunction."

We haven't been bad for a decade because we know the inner workings - we've been bad for a decade because we hire bad coaches. That's dysfunction.

I don’t think JH nor Elliott succeed here. I said form the beginning the second hire DW makes is the big one and I think Elliot would recruit way better and leave a better roster for the next coach

Based on what? Couldn't even pull him from Clemson for 2 million more a year than he gets now (after a raise) you really think -he- would be able to pull an elite staff together picking from Dabo's squad? He's never coached anywhere else in the FBS.

Agree. The leaks aren't what make us dysfunctional. We got 99 problems, but that ain't one

We’re hoping to have some former VFLs on and walk us through the calls and what happened. Hopefully if it gets off the ground and people enjoy it we can do some live “watch parties” once the season arrives. The goal is to make it as interactive as possible and help teach vol fans of all ages, backgrounds, and knowledge levels.

He said on the radio in Nashville that he wouldn't come to college for anything less than HC. And I don't blame him because most likely in the next 2-3 years he will have an NFL DC or, possibly, HC.

Fun topic to think about.

Basketball team's offense has been very up and down this season. They have 3 games only scoring in the 50's, how many times do we think the football team scores more than 50 this year?

a transfer would need a certain % of hours that are transferable toward their major to be eligible. That becomes tricky with some classes and it’s been rumored a number of our guys didn’t exactly get after it in the classroom

Right - and specifically regarding the hiring of Heupel, White should consider himself lucky it leaked the night before. It gave people time to come to grips with it and get on board.

People would have been 10x more pissed to wake up the next morning with a press release.

We've got a ton of problems, like you said. Danny White should be more concerned with why and how he was turned down by multiple candidates and landed on his back-up plan at UCF instead of spending time worrying about "leaks" and reporting from media members in this town who have kept plugging away, trying to cover a terrible program for the last decade.

If this is the case, it's a death spiral we will likely never get out of. The job will not be any more attractive in 3 years IMO if this is the case.

Goes back to what I've posted previously: At this point in the life cycle of Tennessee football, we are going to have to luck into hiring a superstar with an underwhelming hire who puts a surprisingly good product on the field that attracts youth. No young men are coming to Tennessee because of tradition. IMO CJH has as high a ceiling as anyone to fit that mold because he has an offense that is extremely conducive to today's game. Time will tell, and I'm in wait and see mode like nearly everyone else.
