I think we will get news on this front early this week. It has been reported that he brought his TE, OL, and QB coach with him but nothing has officially been confirmed.

He also has reportedly offered Steele the DC spot but Steele has supposedly not given an answer yet.

I hardly ever post, but long time lurker... I did see where Austin Uke has a UT scholarship offer and he tagged Glen Elarbee. So not official but assuming Elarbee is onboard (or working for free because he likes Heupel???)

I disagree. No amount of hiring speed by Heupel could fix this mess. Whether the class is screwed or not was entirely attributable to what happened before he accepted this job.

Maybe he’s doing a lot of hiring now, and everyone involved is keeping their mouths shut until after NSD. I doubt that the VN hive brain is any more informed than it was during the coaching search.

Interesting question as stated. I would GUESS that he could turn down the DC position and still hold us to a more generic assistant coach slot at the 450K. If I understand the two year deal correctly.

Don’t think we’re looking to add high school signees with these 5 remaining spots. Leaving them available for transfers. But keeping our current players has been a bear.
