So we’ve heard all the rumors, tracked the planes, discussed every possible candidate, torn them down, praised them and called each other names. With all of that we know the pulse of the fan base

Does anyone know or care to comment on who the players want? I don’t think I’ve read one thing about them in all this. Fans matter I get that but isn’t this primarily about them? Just curious.

I hate that his daughter has sickle cell. Does anyone know if our region has a specialist? In this article Franklin acknowledges the fact that there is no top notch facilities close to penn st for her treatment. He wants his family together and I could see him taking a job anywhere that gets his daughter closer to the best sickle cell specialists.

Grady in Atlanta and Duke are 2 of the best in the country. Lot closer to Knoxville than College Station.

I did the “ your terrible stories ruined my life” thing last night. If you read this thread chronologically, you’ll see that things are proven true over time, not the other way. We made a 7.5-8 offer to Franklin. The press has now confirmed that. We were very close. Confirmed. Still being discussed today. My friend, who doesn’t control the search, can’t guarantee timing or outcomes. I share what he tells me anyway. If the uncertainty of this is traumatic for you, please ignore it. That’s not my intention. I’m not an insider. I share what I hear. Wear safety gear and warm mittens. Pack a snack. Life can change on you. It’ll all be ok.

I think we've finally lost our collective will to go bat crap crazy over every possible lead because we finally and fully expect a ho hum hire.

Vandy children's hospital is good as well, there's a lot more resources here than in Pennsylvania

I used to use the phrase "expect the worst but hope for the best" when it came to UT football. Now, I've taken out the hope part.

I look at it differently. The last, oh I don’t know, decade I’ve known exactly what to expect while watching a UT football game, and it hasn’t been good.

With the coaching searches, there’s drama, suspense, humor... coaching searches have (sadly) been the most exciting part of being a Vol fan.

Gotta look at the positive, my friend.
