Just checked in again with my guy at Athletes First. There is no, zero, nil, nada etc. chatter in agent community about UT job. It’s locked down. Read he gets from those he works with is it’s not that nothing is going on, it’s that there’s nothing to discuss because the decision has already been made. He wouldn’t speculate on who. But that’s how they are reading the silence.

Few, if any, people that know me would consider me an optimist, but I’m still holding onto totally unfounded hope that this will be a stellar hire. I figure why not stay happy for got as long as possible?

Everyone should be holding out for a great hire because our AD is doing his job. People are pissing and moaning because he's not telling them what he's doing on a daily basis. We will get a coach and that should be the end of it------but it won't-------it'll just be the beginning of hell again for some.

I feel like you missed the point. White will get us the best possible coach given Tennessee's circumstances. Will that coach compete for the East in 2 or 3 years? I hope so though we're likely to have sanctions. What other options are there? I see two. Stop supporting the team or keep supporting the team knowing we got about the best AD possible for the search.

I think you and I have different definitions of best possible coach.
