This is not me saying a man's skin color should be a consideration during a coaching search, and I want to stress that as such.

However, it would be nice for the school that had the first black QB in the SEC to continue the tradition by employing the only current black head coach in the conference. He would be only the 6th black head coach in SEC history.

Again, this is not me virtue signaling or whatever, but I'd be happy for Tennessee to continue its' role in progressing the sport and I think it would be valuable for us in the national media and on the recruiting trail. Good publicity can work for you.
Couldn't agree more. So go hire James Franklin!

I think Tony Elliot would at least have a high ceiling. He has a master's degree in Engineering, so you know he's not dumb. He could likely land some high profile transfers. Ty Simpson would be a near lock. He has some upside and I trust the judgement of TE

Too many unknowns.

This isn’t the right time to be learning on the job.

We haven’t hired a HC with power 5 experience since Majors. We need to make the job attractive enough to make that happen so a coordinator is about all we can expect these days.

The problem with this argument is that Georgia hasn't hired a P5 HC coach in the modern era. Florida did it with Spurrier and Mullen but not anyone in between. Auburn did it with Tuberville and Chizik. One was good; one wasn't. Alabama did it with Saban, Mike Price never coached, and Gene Stallings before that.

There is more history everywhere of hiring a coordinator or "mid major" HC. Dabo...Riley...Day...Smart...You just have to hire the correct one.

That's a nice sentiment but, the only thing I want is a winner. I don't have a preference on man/woman, straight/gay, black/white...whatever.

I just want to win. Please. Just win.

For the love of God, WIN.

Just want to put some positive vibes out there, because the negativity is too much. This board is the best and worst. For all we know, the delay is to ensure that it doesn't look like Pruitt was a part of a coup for when he tries to get his buyout in court?? We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Just trust the process.

It's not a *preference*, it is a positive thing to point out if the results go that way.

Two planes from Knoxville that were blocked until 5 minutes ago are landing at the airport near Parker Search firm near Atlanta. Can we get that dude to go back there today & actually give us information?

EDIT: It looks like one plane did land there a few minutes ago, and this is what it is AirNav RadarBox - Global Flight Tracking Intelligence | Live Flight Tracker and Airport Status
Honestly its all I have left at this point hoping he isn't picking up TE in ATL.

Although there are no guarantees, but Elliott is similar to Phil Fulmer and David Cutcliffe when they were OCs at TN. Both highly successful play callers and both highly coveted by other teams. I am not advocating for him. I am just saying he has much more potential than many current HCs and not many quality HCs want to touch this job.

Highly recommended by a lot of folks in the business but since he doesent rush it like the last couple ADs he isn’t good.

What a joke.
I'm saying if he hires elliott over some other candidates, them yeah.... He isn't as good as everyone claims. We just paid a **** ton for an AD to make the same kind of hire we have been making. It's just the truth man.
