Like I said before... maybe hire Steele dirt cheap save the money keep him for 3 years then when the NCAA bullsh** is over we will be ready for the big fish.

All due respect, if we end up hiring Kevin Steele that would be a DEFCON 5 move. I’d say that would set the program back longer than a decade. I understand that might appeal to the older folks that draw the connection to Steele’s association with the program in the past but I think that’s the last thing we should do. On optics alone that would be horrible. On top of that, Steele is a career assistant. I don’t think a year with him as the head coach is a good idea.

We're going to be overpaying, no matter what. And the deal is going to be so loaded with sweeteners, finance and legal will choke while reviewing it.

Just like UT did for the AD. Ditto for any high-level assistants we attempt to hire. We're going to pay and pay and pay for years.
agreed.
at this point, i really, really, really couldn't care less what we pay the coach, AD, the rest of the staff, analysts...whatever....

the only thing that matters is "value". and we're on the wrong side of that equation.

so, you want out of this mess.................? we're in the "you don't have a choice" territory when it comes to that.

Listening to Mike Farrell on Full Ride w/ Childers and Neuheisel right now and he’s saying that we are now 5 or 6 years away from contending in the East...Gross
I mean, he doesn't know that. He doesn't know whether or not Bailey or Salter are legit. If they are, with the right coach, we are competing before then.
