Fulmer is every bit as responsible as Pruitt for where we are at this moment. If you can’t see that, I can’t help you.
Is he responsible for this mess? Yes.

Does that mean this is forever his lasting UT legacy? No.

Fulmer’s legacy can, and will, be that he both took this program to its highest AND lowest points over the past 30 years. He was given a job as AD that should have never been given to him, and he failed miserably. He’s responsible for that. But so is the administration who thought it’d be a good idea to hire a “feel good redemption story” to run a multimillion dollar operation.

If the AD hire is going to be fast, why hire Steele? If he's given the job, we will be back searching in 3 years. If he's allowed to coach for 1 year until a hire is made, say goodbye to the 22 recruiting class.

Hire the AD, then offer a big time HC 8 mill a year to get us out of this mess. Its the only way. This Steele hire is trash and will only set us back. UT still proving they're UT.
It's been mentioned several times why he was hired, and also been mentioned several times that he could be retained on the new staff. No big deal, actually a good thing if we can keep him n Garner on staff when new coach is hired. Just my opinion

If we get a well regarded AD, I think that’s your sign that it won’t be Steele. Hard for me to believe that a sitting AD will agree to come here when his (or her) biggest opportunity to shape the program isn’t on the table.

Doesn't think that things around Tennessee will be resolved anytime soon. Gets messier and messier as time goes on. "Somehow have found a way to make things worse over and over"

"Have you ever seen a program hit itself harder over the head than they did on Monday?"
No. Talking about duplicity between what Chancellor and Prez were saying vs what is/was done. Can't believe the level of self-snitching.
Thought it was funny that Fulmer cited "good recruiting" during the conference.
They're praising Fulmer, but then everything that is playing out.
Accuses leadership of being tone deaf, especially after clown show of last hiring process. Now all of this. Remarkable ineptitude.

Need someone is either desperate to get into SEC
Tennessee is still somewhat desirable
Going to be a stretch to find someone with good coaching stock to come to UT. Unless they love the university or have a connection.
NCAA sanctions looming are going to hurt. Thinks NCAA is going to hit Tennessee hard. Will be reeling from sanctions for a couple of years. Could lead to players leaving. Will put UT back pretty substantially.

Everyone should be disturbed about short term future.
"We thought UT couldn't GIVE the job away three years ago. AND NOW the NCAA is hanging over the program.

Thinks it might be worth it to "sit out" of coaching search and hang where things are at. Try again this time next year.

Feldman is wrong on a lot of this IMO. Not "worth it" to sit out a year with an interim. On the NCAA "hitting TN hard", The SEC Commish said today he thinks the NCAA will look favorably on how swiftly and decisively UT handled this. I don't think Glazer law firm would lead TN down this path without confidence it would not result in TN being "hit hard". Sounds like more TN bashing from a national media guy than anything.

"Will clearing house help with NCAA?"
Maybe if there was just one or two coaches acting as fall guys you can say you got rid of the bad actors. The fact that they got rid of 10 people looks like it was widespread and deep.

Still thinks that a lot of things will surface in UT vs Pruitt. Could get really ugly.
Thinks it's all about getting out of the buyout. Doesn't think Pruitt or UT want to see a court room. Headscratcher.

How did they get into a situation where getting rid of him is more expensive than what's about to happen to the program? Airing all sorts of dirty laundry. Makes the next hire that much harder. Makes his job that much harder. Puts UT in cross hairs. Did they have no other choice? It really wasn't THAT much money.

So that goes back to the investigation. They felt like they have no other choice because they found egregious stuff. No way to get around this.

Pruitt and Neids were not doing anything that they weren't doing at Bama or GA or wherever they worked. This was learned behavior that they got away with at other stops.

If they throw us under the bus, then I would say we have a good chance of arguing that those players we paid that went to other schools should be ineligible and those schools should be investigated. I agree that I'm not sure the NCAA wants to go down that road.

If the NCAA hammers UT, it's because our Chancellor handed them far more than they would have ever found on their own. The NCAA is understaffed, overburdened and lacks the manpower to dig deep and cast a wide net. They're set up to enforce, not investigate, and have a huge backlog that lets a lot of things slide under the radar. But when you serve up your transgressions on a silver platter, with all the evidence organized and triple-checked, the NCAA tends to look a lot closer and make you a higher priority. If you really want to pique their interest, you invite NCAA reps to ZOOM in on meetings where you present evidence that nails you, followed by a presser where leadership emphasizes how serious, shocking and widespread your violations are.

Other schools avoid, delay, divert and deny deny deny, forcing the NCAA to allocate resources they don't have to prove things that take a lot of time, effort and evidence to prove, which the NCAA isn't all that keen to do. All while the school continues to do what they do. See LSU, Auburn, Bama, UGA, etc. etc.

Clay Travis has said the exact opposite

So help me...if we get hit hard by the NCAA we need to sell out anybody and everybody. Let the media know what Bama And Georgia have been up to. We handled the situation from a PR standpoint about as good as you can. We fired 9 or 10 people. There is no reason that we should get hit hard by sanctions.

A failure by Chancellor then?
