vq has been very consistent during this deal. They said Pruitt wasnt going to fired by fulmer or negotiate a buyout. That a final decision would come after the investigation and that Plowman would make the call. They were spot on

I’m ok with him on staff but him as HC is a death sentence to this program. He’s an old guy who’s had 0 success as a head coach. It’s the most tone deaf move this university can make. AP sounds like a whiny baby who just got cutoff from the tit. My Saturdays will be free until further notice. Steele brings you no hope. Barely any experience as an HC. If he was worth anything as an HC he would have been hired somewhere the last 20 years and for AP to say Baylor was a place with no hope of winning tell that to Art Briles and Matt Rhule. I’m out on Steele and this university if that’s the route we go and y’all can say your “bye” comments now to me I don’t care and most of y’all are thinking the same thing.

Tennessee fires Pruitt. AD retires. Hires search firm for AD first. Will take several weeks to hire the guy who will hire a coach. That will take several more weeks.

The next hire is soooooooo important. If we cannot get who we want I’m completely ok with Steele as interim for one year. Another Pruitt or Dooley hire and we’ll never recover. If we’ve been vetting coaches for a while there’s zero reason we should screw this up badly. But we’re Tennessee so

I'm still mostly concerned about being able to recruit with us having to be squeaky clean now. Can we bring in a coach knowing they're under a microscope? Going to be tough to deal with that on top of the scholarship reduction incoming.

NCAA will be mostly satisfied that we are doing our best and correcting the issue with integrity when it came to light. We will share adjustments to stay ahead of this in the future and the new coach will understand what needs to be done to stay under the radar. All will be well.

The problem is, Pruitt’s staff let it get out in the open to where it could not be concealed and we had no choice but to address it.

It's imperative that Steele is nothing more than a place holder, whether for a month or for a year.
