I have a bad feeling we will finally "swing for the fences" but it will be some total headscratcher hire like a Herm Edwards type. Maybe we will finally end up hiring Bill Cowher or Tony Dungy.

Today is bittersweet.

I wish Fulmer could have been the answer at AD so he could get his ride off in the sunset on his own terms. Regardless of the detriment he was with JP in these last few months, he'll always be the coach that brought the decade of dominance and a national championship to Knoxville.

JP needed to go. I'm curious if you ever see him take another HC job. He had a taste of it, obviously didn't like it, and would much rather go back to being a DC. Maybe years down the road but, he has a lot to learn before he she consider it again.

Anyway...back to swinging for the fences!

I agree. I always wish we could let people who have served the university for many years move on with as much grace as possible. I felt the same way about Holly Warlick. Just push them on their way and wish them well. And I say that having wanted them all removed long before they were fired.

I hope some of the Fulmer stuff is kept quiet. His best years are behind him, and many mistakes were made. Parting ways was inevitable. I wish we would just move on. I wish we had moved on months ago.

Tom Herman
Herman did not live up to the billing at Texas but he could be the ideal coach for Tennessee, if they are looking for an offensive mind that has had success at various stops and knows how to recruit effectively. He has interest in the job from what I have just been told.

This is likely not the only coaching search hot board we will release over the coming days, unless Tennessee moves swiftly.


Man, they mention Kiffin, Herman & Freeze all having interest in this job too... If that's the top 3 I don't think the fans would be disappointed with any of them :O
