I don't think CJP would hire is own replacement. Bassilio says stuff he reads on here and twitter. Him, Finebaum, and most of the sports media are just echoing what fans are saying and things that will make them listen.

And next week when he is wrong he will say that the firing was a done deal and something unforseen happened behind the scene at the last minute and Pruitt was saved. Bassillo montiors social media and what ever the fans are talking about repeats it on his show. So its basically like talking to yourself.

And the victory goes to Basilio.

Today is bittersweet.

I wish Fulmer could have been the answer at AD so he could get his ride off in the sunset on his own terms. Regardless of the detriment he was with JP in these last few months, he'll always be the coach that brought the decade of dominance and a national championship to Knoxville.

JP needed to go. I'm curious if you ever see him take another HC job. He had a taste of it, obviously didn't like it, and would much rather go back to being a DC. Maybe years down the road but, he has a lot to learn before he she consider it again.

Anyway...back to swinging for the fences!

Pruitt was a bully to those around him, and had little support in the administration. Apparently when Pruitt was riding high after our 8 game winning streak, he said something to someone in recruiting or compliance, who then took it to Plowman. Plowman kept hearing things, and then they raided the coaches' offices back in November. That opened up the treasure trove of information. Had the Glazier group ready to go for the outside investigation.

Please resist the urge to trash Coach Fulmer. It does no good and only serves to promote the idea that we (fans) eat our own when they outlive their usefulness to us.
Focus on the future. Bashing Fulmer in no way helps us moving forward.
Pruitt is gone; Fulmer is retiring. We desperately need to get the AD hire right. Let's all start today rowing the Vol boat in the same direction.

Fulmer was a cancer for the program as an AD and remember i told you NOT ONE decent coach would entertain working for TN if fulmer was there...his reputation had gotten out and while I won’t comment on the infractions he made...he was single handed going to get our program into trouble regardless of what Nieds or Jeremy did. HE HAD TO GO.

Do you think the firing and retiring is enough to keep the NCAA from nailing us to the wall?
