I hate to be a downer, but I feel like we’ve yet to hit bottom. Pruitt has failed, but that the investigation turned up something bad enough that Tennessee is firing him for cause is...not good. How attractive is this job going to be under a cloud? How could we possibly justify hiring Freeze now? Campbell doesn’t want this job. Neither does Fickell. Chadwell might take it but he’s a massive roll of the dice and has had his own issues.

I just can’t see this as positive.

Steele is gonna be named interim. That doesn't mean anything for this upcoming season. We have an entire football team on campus and we have to hire an AD, then hire a coach.

Somebody needs to be in charge of the team activities while that happens.

I was with AP saw CJP and AP exchanging numerous messages about recruiting and casually inquired about their relationship. CJP doesn’t have many close friends but was friendly with AP. It’s not surprising he defended him so strongly. He was close enough he lost objectivity.
