Wasn’t he really fighting a painful groin injury the whole game? Seem to remember him struggling to get off the field after a play, and 2 or 3 teammates rushing out to help him.

I think he played through injuries for a fair amount of the 1998 season, but because he was Al Wilson, it didn't seem to affect him like it would a normal football player.
