It feels like there’s two scenarios right now for the replacement. Fulmer gets his way - Marrone as HC with Steele as DC and Garner as DL coach. If others get their way - Chadwell is the new HC and he brings his own staff and maybe Steele sticks around as an analyst since he’s being paid very well by Auburn to leave.
If those are the names that we're talking about, I'd rather have Chadwell as HC with Steele as DC. Nothing at all excites me about Marrone, and he comes off as a name that is getting mentions purely because he was a Fulmer assistant 20 years ago and evidently is still buddies with him.

Ansley has been looking for a way out. Pruitt wants to hire another defensive coach. So there's a path to make a hire with several scenarios for how it plays out. A lot of people would like to see Steele back at UT, and the role could be fluid.
There's alot wrong with this. Sounds like pruitt coming back.

Awesome how this is centered around Mims and Washington and yet, both of them signed with UGA.

Also recall a certain someone being quite involved with them who also claimed it was ok to throw Pruitt under the bus for the good of the program and that it could be controlled...guess not.

If Tennessee makes a move, why would we not target Herman? I understand that he isn't a grand slam, proven championship coach, but he has more of an upside than Chadwell or Marrone IMO. Losing the Texas job may have put a chip on his shoulder and I like the success from the Meyer tree. Don't believe the talk coming from Texas.
I think you should reassess the meaning of upside. Chadwell has more upside than any other option. The reason I don’t want him is that he also has more downside than any other option.

According to Hubbs Marrone would've been the head coach if the deal with Butch had fell through.

Can Marrone bring Jay Gruden with him?

Is Jay Gruden even a good OC?

Would having two NFL HCs on the coaching staff move the needle for us in recruiting?

Fulmer would love a Marrone hire because Marrone would keep him in the loop on everything. Fulmer would be like an extra coach in that scenario (for better or worse).
I've tried for a month to talk myself into believing Maroon can win here and I just don't see it. I agree with you though, Fulmer would love having a puppet for a head coach.

I hope VQ BOB is full of crap

I'm not being intentionally obtuse, please describe the "rebuild" for me. Then I'll let you know if I'd sign up for it.
You come into a program with no continuity or vision and an AD who has no idea what they’re doing. There are a number of transfers and your school is potentially under scholarship reductions and a bowl ban. The roster has potential, but it will take a ton of development. You are recruiting against 10 of the best recruiting schools in the country. You have a fan base that expects more than you are capable of in three years unless you are a juggernaut coach (which he isn’t). It is a five year rebuild.

Who was forced onto Pruitts original staff? Absolutely nobody that’s who. He showed up with a list of guys that were willing to work for him and THAT was a big reason Fulmer hired him.

When you say no one, you really mean just you, right?
And whether you like it or not, Pruitt's network of coaches that were willing to work with him were much higher caliber than Chadwell. Pruitt has worked in elite programs with elite coaches his entire career. Chadwell hasn't sniffed the Power 5.

Chadwell would have to accept the fact he would have to hire coaches he's never worked with or never met to come here. That is simply stating the obvious.

Either he admits that, in which case it isn't "forcing coaches on him" technically, or he doesn't and you hard pass.

Marrone with Steele and Garner could be pretty good if you get a creative OC

I would have to see OC but Marrone looks more attractive with those two associated with his name. You don’t miss a beat recruiting on defense and likely improve considering you get one of the best DL recruiters in country. Your OL coaching improves with Marrone. I wonder if he would keep Chaney. Then you have Marrone with Chaney/Steele. Keep Jay/Tee on staff. Add Garner. Don’t hate it

And this doesn’t mention how difficult the schedule is
