What’s happening, I’ll storm Neyland like the folks at the capitol last week if Kevin Steele is anywhere near this program. He’s actively tried to jockey for a HC gig while stabbing coaches in the back. He’s not who we need in Knoxville and I hope he isn’t even in this state. He’s a snake and more importantly he’s a trash coach.
They all probably came after me cause I don't recall those names but I do remember Bill Woods (Woods Piano family) from Johnson City as a Navy pilot.
I agree. Just watched this breakdown of Chadwell's offense at Charleston-Southern & Coastal Carolina. Not sure how we convince a Simpson to come and hand the ball off and run play-action.I doubt Ty Simpson would come play in Chadwell type of offense
Will do, checking it out now. Thanks. If you ever want to talk flying, stop by the thread sometime. Would enjoy hearing some old airline and navy stories.
Aviation Discussion
Problem being we know the admin won't pursue either.Chadwell runs a run heavy, split backfield style built out of a variant of the triple-option at Coastal Carolina. I honestly don't see how Salter is sold on an offense that basically relies on the run with interspliced play-action.
Freeze or LANE.
I don't get Tennessee AD.
Tennessee recruits good enough that we don't need to run an offense like Chadwell's.
The only thing Tennessee needs to do is hire a good coach. Butch showed that you can win at Tennessee. If butch was a little better of a game day coach, Tennessee would have had some really good seasons under him.
Dooley was a losing coach before coming to Tennessee. Lane was inexperienced. Pruitt had ZERO experience.
Butch is the ONLY winning head coach Tennessee has hired since PF left. Let that sink in.
We will just have SEC players running that offense. Could be damn exciting.I don't get Tennessee AD.

Chadwell has built the program where he is now. Lane didnt build a program. Dooley didnt build a program. Butch didnt build a program. Chadwells offense can have success at the big boy level. You just need a QB that can run it. The Spread Option and Triple option have similarities but there is a HUGE passing threat in the spread option. Keeps defenses honest. Salter and the new guy could run this system. Eric Grey would FLOURISH in it. would be very very fun to watch.I don't get Tennessee AD.

Just rewatched the highlights of the BYU game and had the exact same thought about Gray. I also think Jabari Small would thrive in it tooChadwell has built the program where he is now. This is my concern. Can he handle the massive work load this job requires? Its a gigantic step up from where hes coached. If he hires the right support staff around him im sure he will do fine.Chadwell is not in my top 3 but I'd be good with him. My biggest concerns is can he handle the scope of this job and can he recruit SEC talent. I do love his fire, his life long love of the VOLS, and his team was a lot fun to watch this year. I think he'd try harder than most other coaches, that we've discussed, to make UT relevant again. I just want a firing and a hiring to happen this week, preferably tomorrow.
@RiotVol did you watch this informative video on Chadwell offense?
My belief is his offense can work in the SEC. His offense caters around his players and what the D is showing.
