I might be the last person alive that is still not convinced a Pruitt is being fired.

I’ll be sitting here thinking how ridiculous it is that it hasn’t happened yet and how it makes no sense, and how I think they give him one more year. But then I’ll read up on this thread and twitter and be thinking he’s gone and it’s just a matter of time.

I’d say I’m 65-35 he stays still. Will fluctuate frequently.

Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the lawyers doing the investigation. We brought in OUTSIDE council to hopefully alleviate some of the NCAA issues that may come of this. The NCAA trust Glazier a lot more than our university general council.

We are just at the mercy of the lawyers. Pruitt will not be retained, but the university is just trying to minimize the ncaa issues long term. I know we want answers, but thats just where we are at.

We hired outside council for pearl and that investigation was going on a lot longer than what we knew about. Notice how the NCAA didn't completely destroy us then? I can assure you there was a lot more than just a BBQ.

Just gotta have patience, unfortunately.

I’m getting a little worried now that a faction of decision makers are angry enough at PF to make him “finish his plate” with that extension for Pruitt by hamstringing the program, resulting in an even more humiliating season, players leaving, lost recruits and then a very public firing of both later this year.

The furthest this thing gets is Chadwell. Don’t see any way he turns it down. He is set to make $375,000 next year.

He will get a substantial raise this year after winning at least one coach of the year award. So let's say he doubles up? 800,000 to live at the beach and not have to come to this dysfunctional sh*t we have going on here. Might be more thinking than you think. We aren't the Vols of the late 90s, early 2000s anymore.

The dude is from Caryville, his wife is from Athens, and both of their families are still here in East Tennessee.

$4M a year at Tennessee where you can win a national championship, or $500k a year at a place where you can go undefeated yet still not sniff a chance at the playoffs?

He’s going to take the job if offered.

I'm not saying he wouldn't take the job, KV. I'm just saying this job was an absolute no brainer 15 years ago. Now to some, it may not be the case anymore. If you dont succeed like the last few coaches youre squarely back to square 1 again staring at a group of 5 school again. Im hopefull for anything at this point. I think we are at the point now that we HAVE to hire someone who's had head coaching success in the P5 not just on the field but actually knowing how to run a program of this caliber.

He's still relatively young and its obvious you have an admin that's trying to find a way to fire a coach for cause. Thats not necessarily the environment that some would just gladly walk into. I do think he would take the job if you offered him 3 million. However, I think there's more proven guys out there if you're willing to spend some money.

In my opinion, we are at the point that we have to think outside the box in hiring a coach, a very good coach, say Meyer or Stoops. Something like a 3 year deal with like 6 or 7 million a year to correct the problems. If the coach wants to go somewhere else, after that then fine, we should be in a position to hire a very good coach by then. If he wants to stay, then negotiate a better contract for all. The only problem is if the coach doesn't get the job done, then our University is in a very bad problem area, and the coach as well.

Money Talks.

Cheaper to keep her mentality. Nice negotiating skills.

I’m in the same boat that I feel he ends up staying but we just went way out of our way to ensure he has a bad season next year.
