Late Kick Live “Tennessee in Trouble”

Lane Kiffin’s departure caused a reflex response. I am convinced our AD hired Derek Dooley for his last name, parted haircut, and southern draw. The dismal leadership has only continued and the current football program is the byproduct.
That was 10 years ago. None of those people are involved now. This is Phillip Fulmer’s $*** Show. He is not competent as an AD and the program is about to pay for it.

I didn't fight with you over wanting Pruitt fired, or for wanting freeze. You made guarantees that didn't happen, and I sincerely doubt we hire freeze
They weren’t guarantees by any means. Every time I posted about it I was saying that was the talk around a few SEC programs, and it was. It still is, now the national media is covering. If it doesn’t happen and Tennessee messes this up, then I guess they’re never going to get it right.

The dismal leadership continues. No one said they were connected.

You have a thread, It's in the pub now, where you guaranteed it. Not trying to argue again, just explaining why I came at you the way I did. I'm all for Pruitt leaving tonight, just got tired of all the fake insiders since the gruden stuff. Maybe you didn't mean to word it that wsy, but you definitely said it as a guarantee, that Pruitt would be fired after the a&m game.

I can't fault him for hiring Kiffen. The guy brought in an all-star coaching staff with him.
True. Monte Kiffin was the reason I did not freak out about the hire.

Don’t be surprised when Fulmer trots Tee Martin out there as the next HC.
I think Fulmer would try harder than that to keep his job.

Wouldn't be surprised at all...it will be a sad day for Volunteer Football for sure.

Following up 4 bad hires with yet another bad hire in a guy that has zero head coach experience and certainly is not overwhelming in his OC positions.

I agree he will do whatever is needed to save his job. He has better persuasion skills than most give him credit for and plays the political game as needed. I don’t mean any disrespect but it’s a proven fact to those close to the program and media for the past 28 plus yrs.

Just be repeating the previous mistake. Can't keep hiring guys with zero head coaching experience and expect them to be able to fix this mess.

Nothing too earth shattering. Basically says Pruitt’s days are numbered with the hiring freeze put into place. Speculated that the best name for UT to target is Freeze but if not Freeze he feels they need a “stop gap” coach to build stability for the next few years before we could attract top, top name coaches in 3-4 years. He finds it odd that Art Briles resigned from his HS gig as it’s speculated that he would take over at Liberty if Freeze left (potentially for UT).
Why is it, when I hear the words “stabilize the program”, “3-4 years”, then step aside for the big name coach.....

I keep hearing “Phil Fulmer will step in to stabilize the football program then retire in 3-4 years”.

What are you talking about? Who cares how it was started, it's happening and Tennessee will not hire Freeze. You'll see
My guy, you shouldn't take that bet.

ONE dude...is actually transferring to Tennessee. Amidst all this turmoil.
WHO would ever do that??? Maybe someone who had some assurances about it.

Hendon Hooker.
The QB who arguably had the best game against Hugh Freeze's defense this season.

That's not coincidence my man. It's not like he doesn't know a Freshman 5 star is already on the roster, and a top DT QB from Texas enrolling early.

I'm not saying he will be starting, but Hugh found a way to get in a situation to coach this kid.

I have the feeling the NCAA will hand down sanctions against Tennessee and Jeremy Pruitt will be shown the door while Phil Fulmer resigns.

Think so? Maybe just self impose a bowl ban, couple scholly's. Bowl ban doesn't mean much.

It has beginning to become hard to see any positive that could come out of this. Pruitt is dead in the water. I just don't see how that works out. Longer this drags the less confident I feel about attracting a decent coach too. The stain on TN is getting bigger by the day

How does TN hire Freeze after it fires Pruitt for violations? Is that not the definition of hypocrisy? I just don't see TN doing something bold like that. TN is more of the "bend over the table and take it" type.
