More than likely because we were incredibly stupid about it. There's a reason they don't get caught. Let everyone OUTSIDE the program handle all that and never bring it in house like Nieds and others "allegedly" did. That way you can play the I didnt know about it game and there's no way to prove you did.
You are hired as our bagman. When can you start?

Roll the dice if he does it again it’s on him and I wouldn’t feel a bit bad about it. Tired of Tennessee playing behind the 8 ball
If he got in trouble again, which I seriously doubt he would, does it matter? We’ve been terrible for 10+ years. At least we will have had a lot of success. Grow a set of snapper clappers.

If we were not the laughing stock of football previously, we certainly are heading that way...We bungle hiring people, now we bungle firing people. Who in their right mind would come here to coach? We are a hot mess.

No that’s why I said I’d roll the dice. If it hits you’ve got one of the better coaches available if not then your back in this situation.

I thought they raved over marrone, could be wrong I guess... I really doubt Freeze has a realistic chance given his history alone. It would be like loading dry wood to a fire
Oh I dont disagree with you at all. Just what I thought I remember him saying. He was definitely raving about Marrone too.

Not to discourage ya, but a local subdivision where I live has postponed any building activities until March because the cost of supplies are so high right now. Ya may want to wait on the work for a few months until the market settles for supplies.
You around Chattanooga by chance? Same thing occurring in a new development near my subdivision.

Hopefully it’s not the case. Tennessee is in good shape to make a great hire if they want. They can’t drag feet though

Something tells me it one of the Mays brothers. Remember a few days ago we there was a lot of discussion about the initials CM.

But AV also indicated it was intentional.
This isn't directed at you, all of us in general. Can we refrain from speculating on player names?

You are what your record says you are is a lazy argument made by people who lack the ability to use cognitive analysis based on context.

It's interesting that records have become a serious debate topic when half the board is pro Mullen. He went 5-7 in year 8 at MSU, and he finished the year ranked 3 times in 9 years.

I'll say this. When I've been in meetings with outside counsel and there's an employment issue on the table, that answer more likely than not is to fire them. Granted, I don't work in an industry where employees have contractual buyouts.

No question, UT would welcome the opportunity to fire with cause, if they can make a case. UT clearly has a lower risk tolerance than other schools. So outside counsel will recommend a strategy based on their findings and likely outcomes. As you know, there are other variables-- Pruitt's response being one.

I think this is a be careful what you wish for case.

If too much of this gets out, Tennessee will be a disaster and none of the coaches will want to touch this place. And players will leave and recruits will bail.

Best case is, keep as much internal as you can, fire and hire quick like Texas and move on and don’t bring it up. Only say what has to be said.

Theoretically if Herman became coach what do we think that would mean for Salter? Did he even consider Texas?

Nope, Morgan County. I did live near Chattanooga for awhile though.

I personally know the developers, this is their first (and last) time doing something like this. They saw a need, new builds in our county and happened to have the means to help in that area so they did. Have taken a lot of bumps/bruises along the way doing it though. And even before COVID inflation they weren't walking away with 70k+ profits on any home sold.
