Yep - word gets around.

If you keep him, he will tank this thing semi-purposely just to get out of here.

If you fire him, you've severely limited your talent pool.

They better hope they've got a rabbit in their hat, otherwise we're looking at another "Kevin Steele or Jeremy Pruitt" type debate.
Marrone would be an absolute home run compared to Steele. Fans better hope between those 2 Doug would get the nod.

I don’t pretend to actually know who would/could succeed here.

But I do find it hard to believe a guy who did less with more is the answer.
Did more with less at Houston. Still think he's a better choice than Marrone. Of the candidates I think might be realistic, Herman and Napier top my list. But then, who really knows what's realistic given the ass hats we have making these decisions?

Mock it all you want but they dang sure stopped a really good coach from being hired.
We’d be in a very different spot today if that Sunday didn’t happen

I always heard it was basically every mid-level booster threatening to pull their $$$$.

Something just feels like UT wouldn’t hire him. Not sure what it is. But there’s something. We need someone like a Bruce Pearl type personality. Mehrone is not that person.
We need Freeze or Kiffin (gag). I don't know of another coach, that's been discussed here, with a Pearl type personality, that also has SEC HCing experience. Maybe a young gun can handle it here but football is so much bigger than basketball and we're really in a bad spot. To me, it has to be someone with a few years of HC experience at a P5 school.

And whoever said Marrone would need 5 years for a rebuild is nuts. If that's the case, then just give Pruitt 2 more years and see what happens.

No one seems to want to weigh in on where the continued dysfunction is at UT since we cleaned house 3 years ago. I've asked several times.

1. UT Admin. - Boyd/Plowman?

2. UT AD - Fulmer? AD staff?

3. UT BOT?

4. Boosters? - specifically where is the conflict between the boosters?

Well this is extremely saddening. Self-inflicted money people, fans are to blame for everything bad outside, and horrid admin again. Hahaha 🤪 this is how Rome felt.

Its clear whats going on and what has been going on all along. Fulmer is determined to keep Pruitt so long as the investigation doesn't turn up something really bad. That of course is what we are waiting on to see. I don't think any bickering by the fan base is going cause Fulmer enough pressure to fire him before the investigation is completed. He is determined to keep Pruitt. What remains to be seen is whether Phil ends up survivng this, regardless of what happens because I think theres a decent chance he doesn't make the next hire regardless of when Pruitt is fired.
I really doubt there's a smoking gun in this investigation. If there was one, it would have come to light by now. This is not rocket science.

I always heard it was basically every mid-level booster threatening to pull their $$$$.

Combination of all of it. Avalanche of fans, then politicians adding more pressure, boosters until finally it was too hard to overcome. If the fans don’t flood social media with all the demands the other would have never happened

I really wish someone "in the know" would point the finger at who is most responsible for this mess so I'd know where to direct my ire.
i know you're being funny here....but i think is most fans would sit back and give it a few minutes of legitimate thought, this is all most really care about. "who to blame", which is why we're seeing all these different narratives being pushed around the past month or so....there's a void, and people need to fill it with something....so that's why we're getting what we get right now.

85% of this fan base has turned on Pruitt, and they’ll bring him back lol.
they could have brought him back. i don't think they can any more. and we'll look back on this in 3 years, and realize that we'd of been better off had we just kept him another year. and that doesn't mean that he deserves it. but know what our options are at this point, i'll just go ahead and start the revisionist history right now, in the present.

lol.

It is past time to poop or get off the pot. We need a freaking decision.

These people are paid tons of money to make these. They do need some accountability.

We have to come to the hard reality that this is who we are now. We have 10+ years of evidences that the decision makers up on the Hill are incompetent and do not know what they are doing with sports. We got incredibly lucky with Basketball (think about the mess it was before Barnes). We should just face the truth that we will never be Elite again unless we get absolutely lucky with a Hire and the WHOLE culture changes. Until then, enjoy the soap opera.
