And people in the building that are around the players and part of the hard work that they put in. In other words, people with skin in the game.
So you don’t think fans that show up at games, rent hotel rooms, go to the vol walk, travel to bowl games, etc. don’t have any skin in the game?

I think Bama and Missouri are right there fighting for 2nd best in SEC basketball. We're gonna destroy the Wildcats this year.

I don’t feel like google searching for you but do you not remember Jeremy complaining about it all preseason....the fact that we had to cancel preseason scrimmages bc not enough players were available..... players were not allowed on campus during the off season..... contact tracing during fall camp was so ridiculous that for example waynya Morris missed over three weeks of practice and never once tested positive.

It’s been posted here on this forum and VQ multiple times. Was a theme repeated over and over again in VQ podcasts about how strict Knox county contract tracing guidelines were, and how so much of our team was in quarantine and how the coaches were frustrated with it. How other SEC teams didn’t face the same restrictions.

From what was stated awhile ago, Knox Co had much stricter contact tracing regulations than any other sec school respective county...

I’ve not seen any data to back this up. If anyone were to show me some actual data to back this claim up, I would accept it.

What I do know for fact...

1. KY has been like a police state compared to TN when it comes to covid measures, and they still found a way to come into Neyland and whip our @$$. From what I’ve seen, it does not make sense that the flagship state university of TN would be sooo much stricter than the flagship state university of KY.

2. The covid excuse would make a whole lot more sense if we started out badly and got better as the season went on, but the opposite is true.

3. Even the VQ crew have acknowledged that Pruitt handled the covid situation poorly.

One good thing Fulmer has done is convinced the powers that be to invest more in the program. For example, the support staff has multiplied and training facilities were revamped. We had one of the highest paid S&C coaches in the country, but he didn’t stick around. I think we were operating on the cheap under Hamilton and Hart, and that’s a major reason why we are where we are. Now I’m coming to terms with the fact that it isn’t all about the money, these guys aren’t even taking the call because the place is a dysfunctional potentially career-crippling dumpster fire right now. Need program stabilizers and developers; O’Brien and Marrone fit the bill.

I like Campbell a lot too, but I went back and watched this year’s matchup with LLU, and it sure looked like Napier out-coached him in that one, FWIW.
Basing an opinion on one freaking game, or even one year is not a good idea. I base my opinion of Campbell on the overall job he has done at Iowa Freaking State. I think Napier is a good prospect, but let's get him in a P5 conference and see what he does year after year.

The only problem is that once he does that then he probably won’t come here.

Just because he complained about it doesn’t make it true. Do you know enough about other teams to know if their players missed extensive time? I’m willing to listen to other points of view and change my opinion. However, if an argument is presented without data, it’s not very convincing. Cite your sources, it’s your argument to defend.

As the great Sturgill Simpson said, “if there’s any doubt, then there is no doubt.”

You don’t let it linger if you’re going to stick with him. We’re just getting everything in order for a firing.
The way they are going about is stupid and destructive..period. They aren't doing this any better than last go around.

Oh, I would still have Campbell higher on my list than Napier. I just thought it was interesting and worth throwing out there. Iowa St looked to have a clear physical advantage, especially defensive front 7 and at WR, but LLU beat them in all 3 phases of the game. It’s definitely worth YouTubing.

Good chance Napier is gonna be good though, and not just basing that off one game but 3 conference championship game berths and one conference title in 3 years.

Been meaning to ask - nuctech as in nuclear? Nuclear I&C here.
Thank you for clarifying and explaining where people are getting that.
Nuclear Medicine Tech in a past life. Studied at UT Med Center.

Agreed on this as well.

I am pro-firing and as such I will be happy with that result, but the same ole Tennessee issues exist and will exist long past whenever the new hire is named.

But at the end of the day Pruitt hasn’t been successful and got busted cheating so this will be the result he deserves. Hopefully the next coach (and I’ve been tarred and feathered for my bad candidate lists) will be able to win in spite of the dysfunctional atmosphere above him. Butch was very close so I believe it can be done.
