that's a fallacy. at least in regards to the notion that any scenario involving the removal of pruitt is addition by subtraction.

we've proven that isn't the case...basically every time we've changed coaches in the last 12 years.

firing isn't the problem. it's always the hiring.....we have sucked at that, each and every time.....and i'm gonna wager we'll do it again if in that position again.
Pruitt is one of the the worst college coaches I’ve ever seen. He coaches and manages his roster/staff like it’s high school. Obviously that post was tongue in cheek but there’s not really one candidate that has even been thought of on this bored that i would consider worse than Pruitt.

It's Georgia - something will come up that blocks them. They'll win the East, but perhaps Bryce Young is a stud at Alabama and their defense gets better. Alabama always loses a ton of talent and coaches every year, so that's nothing new. If Georgia makes the playoff, they'll still have to win 2 games to win the title from there. U looks like an up and coming stud at Clemson.
good points. and UGA isn't as good a front runner as Bama. so even if they do get all the hype, and i agree with @HoleInTheRoof , they probably will, they'll find a way to fall short, again. and i'm gonna be ok with that.

safe to say though i think the SEC will be about 3 teams....Bama, UGA, aTm....and maybe, maybe LSU. i expect Ole Miss to get a lot of 'dark horse' love.....Mizzou will be that team in the East. past that...a lot of suck.

Also, you can't discount the fact that they trip over themselves and have some inexplicable, unpredictable loss (it wouldn't be to us, but perhaps to Kentucky or South Carolina or a team like that) that keeps them out of the CFP.

And dare I say gives them another element/wrinkle to the offense.

Wait so bc the players like Pruitt, that’s a problem? Like you think it’s wrong that a player has bought into Pruitt’s vision and didn’t come to UT just bc it’s UT?

Guys it’s starting to feel like we’re just making up reasons to hate on Pruitt at this point.
It ain't starting to be that way, it has been that way since the Kentucky game...or since halfway through the third quarter of the Georgia game.

Ooh, I didn't even think about A&M playing their spoiler. Something completely predictable can happen that steps in their way. Like, last year if you told them before the season started they would get to face LSU in the SECCG, Georgia fans would have been thrilled. However that LSU team just happened to have perhaps the greatest offense in the history of CFB and steamrolled them. Whoops, sorry.

Totally agree that Atlanta will be handed to them on a silver platter next year, but after that it'll probably get interesting.

I was responding to the suggestion that if the fans don't back Pruitt the players will leave. That isn't liking to coach and the university as you described.

I don't know much but I don't see us coming out of this winners.

Unfortunately I feel the same. It is just going to be at what degree of suck do we emerge?

Do we keep Pruitt and suck? 5 out of 5 sux

Do we fire Pruitt and have a long search where we end up with McGoogle coach #4? 4 out of 5 sux

Do we fire fire Pruitt and have a same day hire of ... Kevin Steele? 3 out of 5 sux

Do we fire Pruitt and have a quick hire of a former NFL coach like we begged for the last two cycles (Marone)? 2 out of 5 sux

Do we fire Pruitt and have a quick hire of a former P-5 big-boy football school like Malzhan? 1 out of 5 sux

Or do we do what I see as best option and hire a P-5 coach just fired whose ready to show the world that all fired coaches from Texas can be great on the hill? 0.5 out of 5 sux

Im sure im in the minority on this but here goes. Mark Stoops is a proven .500 coach at Ky. At KY!! I actually think hes a pretty good coach and would be a big upgrade. We could do a lot worse.

Let's just go ahead and do it and get it over with.

We would all likely be underwhelmed but then be pretty happy about it a couple years from now when we're pretty nasty.
