I’m in agreement on all points there. It would be a nice change to have a head football coach who really does bleed orange. Back around 03 or 4, Tennessee could have handpicked whoever they wanted just about to be the head coach. We were a top 6 or 7 program at that time. In 2021, we can obviously no longer do that. We’re almost going to have to luck into a guy.

History suggests we are gonna make another all-time botch and create yet another case study in what not to do when firing a coach for other programs to learn from.

1000% this. Complete absurdity.

"He went 3-7 and has the worse scoring margin in UT history? No problem. Should we extend him again?"

"He handed a recruit a $5 bill to grab a hot dog? Shoot! We might need to let him go now to preserve our precious integrity!"

You don’t want us under sanctions, scholarship limitations, and bowl bans. That will shrink the candidate pool and make it tougher for the new coach. We need a new coach but not by any means necessary
