Yeah, they do that purposefully. It sounds like what is going down. He coached at multiple colleges, why just mention us?

He’s no way a sexy home run hire, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be successful here. My goal is to get to being 8-4 as a floor. I think Marrone and the staff he could build ..... could do that sooner rather than later. I would love to see our running game next year with what we have returning and Eric gray.

Oh, we definitely have a coach on the hot seat. He may not be fired this year, but he's definitely on the hot seat. UGA and GT's fanbases don't want their coaches gone at the moment.

OMG if we hire Marrone.

Phil sticking with what he knows and not what is best. Freeze, Chadwell, Napier. They all have their own specific obstacles, but we either want to win or we don’t.

If it is Marrone, it looks like we don’t.

UF will continue to be a loss, UGA will dominate, and Bama will get a quarter-century streak on us.

SMDH.

Anybody would be an underwhelming hire really, tho. Freeze would create the most attention just bc of who he is.

Every other coach is either only successful at a lower level of football (not saying that’s bad, but I don’t think it constitutes an overwhelming hire) or has posted mediocre to just above average results at a high level.

Also that’s not me saying I want Marrone. Just reality setting in.

I wouldn’t mind giving Marrone a chance. NFL coaches are turned out like crazy. It’s hard to win year in and out. Jacksonville has sucked for a long time. He did a good job at Syracuse and they are a basketball school. Look at Dino Babers. He is a heck of a coach and he can’t win at Syracuse. He is 24-36. We were clamoring for him before Pruitt was hired. I think he could do well here.

Just as a thought.....

What if we reached out to Herman and he said thanks but no thanks. With an investigation already underway I don't think we were ever going to hire Freeze. So now lets say Marrone knows he's going to be let go and says he's interested. As @HankHill pointed out you don't make the AFC title game with Blake Bortles because you're a bad coach. They've been in sell/suck for Lawrence mode all year. It's not a splash hire but if it is one that is made I think it would be instantly better than Pruitt. Saban didn't make it in the NFL either (not saying he is Saban...just saying)
