This may have already been discussed but if Mullen were to leave for the NFL does this force the UT admin's hand in any way pertaining to JP with the current pool of coaches that are or will be likely available next year?

I think it would depend on who the candidates are for Florida. Can’t even think of where’d they go if Mullen bolted.

I’m sure you’re right and that’s the problem!

If Freeze, Napier, Chadwell or anyone else decent has another good year and is available next year, we will lose out on them to a team in a better situation to win now. Fla St, Michigan, LSU or some other surprise school coaching position is going to open up next year and that opportunity will be better than UT because they didn’t let their programs be run under the ground before they made a change. Then UT will struggle once again to find a coach and end up with a third tier dud like Dooley, Butch, or Pruitt.

I bought into the hype and ignored how awful we were at the beginning of last year because of our easy end of year schedule. But this year looked exactly like the beginning of last year. So after three seasons under Pruitt we have been terrible most of the time. Even games we won we usually looked terrible most of the game yet somehow won.

This is Tennessee’s direction under him and more time isn’t going to change that. By the time we fire him we will replace him with... someone just like him.

I am an Alumnus of UT and will always bleed Orange. But all hope is gone. All of it. I’m tapped out. Pruitt doesn’t have IT. And all indications are that our administration doesn’t either.

So let’s give Pruitt more time to hire terrible assistants and have a terrible 2022 recruiting class and lose lots of games next year THEN fire him and we can all meet back here to talk about the rumor that Vegas has fired Gruden and we are going to finally hire him.
GBO[/QUOTEhere.
But this is Freeze's dream job. He'll wait for it. That's what we've been told here over and over.

I don’t think it’s a certainty that Dak is gonna get a big deal to return to Dallas coming off an injury. Especially with Cowboys having a top 10 pick in a QB heavy draft. It’s no secret that McCarthy and Dak weren’t fond of each other originally either.
McCarthy doesn’t rate better than Dak to JERRY...not even close. The injury’s a non factor. Successful surgery and doing great in recovery. If anything, Dak will be more motivated to get some security after the scare.

No. Our heads are thoroughly buried in the sand. Don't worry about us. We'll peek our heads out around 2025 and see if any up-and-coming defensive coaches are available that have heard of this new "RPO" thingy.

Do you know Pruitt personally? Based on interviews and on field actions, he seems like a type A personality and type a’s don’t be like to told what or how to do things.
So if Fulmer is giving him advice, is he taking it, or is it going in one ear and out the other?
As for the meddling, several on here have said Fulmer is way too involved with the day to day, film study, and game prep.
Nah, I don’t really know him. I’ve breathed the same air with him on a couple of different occasions but that’s about as close as I’ve been to him. He’s definitely not cut from the same cloth as Fulmer from a standpoint of hobnobbing with donors and other influential people that have to do with UT. To answer your question, Pruitt definitely isn’t someone who would take kindly to just anyone thinking they can tell him how to run a football program. That’s probably part of the reason why he doesn’t enjoy the “kiss the baby” aspect of the job. Fulmer is firmly in the keep Pruitt camp, so that to me suggests that they have a good working relationship.
