AP and Hubbs have been saying a lot of recruits are reading the board and that fan response is hurting the recruiting. I wouldn't typically care, but if this staff is coming back, we need to land that in state class next year. It is loaded and could change the direction of the program.

They were talking about VQ, not VN. They said that parents or recruits send them screenshots all the time. I'd say it's possible that rival fans do it. There are several rival fans that post on VQ.

And the fact that the "culture" is players not caring if they show up to meetings or workouts? All this is on him and a direct result of on field issues.

He actually approved Bama's defense over what Kirby did. He's not the DC here. He's a bad HC. No argument from me.

I really doubt that. We’ve heard he’s a micromanager and the defense looked the same against A&M as it did all season.

If bobvols is right, and Pruitt is pitching the idea that he will truly be a head coach next year (which is a joke that he has to say that) I wish he would fire Ansley and we would pay a proven DC the million dollar plus salary that Ansley is getting.

Looking back at the first classes for new Vols coaches: 2010 (247sports.com)

James, Bray, Jacque Smith, and Corey Miller were 4 of 8 early enrollees. He did sign Rodgers and Hunter on signing day.

Edrick Lofton, Ted Meline, Matt Milton, and John Brown were all 4 stars that did nothing.

I disagree, if they bought his plan again he’ll be here at least until 24 unless it gets really bad. Then again what do they consider really bad?

He’s not winning more than 6 games next fall. Not sure how they don’t make a change with 6 or less wins in year 4. But yeah, it’s UT, so maybe they extend him if he wins 6.

But really think about his “success”. He inherited one of the most talented defenses of all time at FSU and coached them for one year. His stuff at UGA is fools gold when you really dig into it. He was solid but not top three quality. Then he was at bama and every coach looks good there.

Here at UT, he’s fielded awful defenses. He had one stretch in 2019 against bad teams where he looked good. Otherwise, it’s blowout after blowout.

In 2016 his defense was elite except for two games. The worst defensive performance: Hugh freeze hung 43 points on him...

It's because the only directions he knows how to follow are Saban's directions. I don't think he has any ability at all to go to another program and develop something of his own, or even replicate something he did at a former program under a head coach's guidance. In order for Pruitt to be successful, you need to drop a well-oiled machine right in front of him and give him specific directions about how to operate it.

I used this analogy earlier in the thread...if you provide Pruitt with good ingredients and a good recipe, he makes a great meal. He's a good button-pusher, and good at following directions. I even think he's pretty good at picking out his own ingredients. However, I think he's really shi**y at coming up with his own recipe.

Fulmer is not a dumb a**. He is a fantastic speaker and very influential. His players love him, but Fulmer always thinks Fulmer is right and he will ram his thoughts down your throat until you side with him.

But, there lies the problem. Our administration let him sell them on that? ( I don't believe crap Bob says) No top assistant is going to come here now. Not without a crazy buyout knowing they will likely be fired next year. UT created a situation that even if Pruitt could succeed, that he cannot.
