Saban was 43-28 before LSU hired him. Success must be measured in context. Sarkisian had a significant rebuild (Washington had won like 10 games total in the 5 or 6 years prior to his arrival, and I think they were even winless the year before).
Not a chance I want to take for us. I want a proven coach. Sark is above avaerage. Sark is not Saban.

Too bad Mullen didn't get to play an 8-5 LA Tech team.
Yea instead beat a 10 win Blue raiders team in year one.... I’m sure that made a huge difference

Arguing Mullen didn’t rebuild MSU and they weren’t Vandy west before he showed up is laughable

Again I continue to ask.... Post one example of a rebuild then

MSU and Tennessee aren’t on the same level, buddy. Comparing them is ridiculous. Tennessee has some of the best resources in the country. We have of the highest coaching salaries in the country. One of the highest recruiting budgets in the country. Foh
I think you are forgetting how this conversation started....it was said that rebuilds don't take 4-5 years.....and i asked anyone to post and example of a rebuild of 3 years or less. And you in turn gave me examples of UGA, Fla, A&M, and MSU.

I cant give you an example of a rebuild in 3 years or less because i honestly can't think of one. I have a lot of respect of what Mullen did. He's a really good coach, but stay on topic.

After talking to a couple people this morning, I believe Pruitt will return.

I was told yesterday he was done and there would be announcement by Friday but this morning things changed dramatically. I do not think it is over but if I had to put a percentage on it I would say it’s 60/40 he returns. Pruitt has had conversations with the decision makers and presented a solid plan that included direction of his staff, making instate ‘22 class and beyond more of a priority, and adding some ‘21 transfers to this class. The biggest part of his plans is focusing on being a head coach and delegating more to his staff both on the field and off. There were several relationships that have been damaged that need repaired on Pruitt’s and the University’s side. I am told this is Plowman’s decision to make. She has counseled with many including Fulmer, BOT, former players and current boosters. Again, no decision has been made. Could come at any time between now and Sunday but I do believe Pruitt returns unless something very damning comes out of the investigation and at this point I believe it to be minor. I do believe an assistant coach could be the fall guy.

Like I said these things are fluid (although some can’t wrap their mind around that) and can take unexpected turns. I didn’t see any way after what all I was told he could be back but here we are. After hearing all this and the candidate pool, I believe it is best he returns next season. I do believe they will give him every resource to be successful next season within reason. I also believe that his seat will remain hot and he will need to show a lot of progress next season. If he is not I believe they will move swiftly and have a plan in place. They were not prepared for this season to be as bad as it was along with all the off the field issues. Again, it’s not completely over and nothing would surprise me at this point but I believe Pruitt returns.

Flame away.

Sark was able to get Washington out of a ditch, which is an accomplishment, but I don't think he was ever really on his way to turning them into a very good team in their conference, which is what they've been historically.

Sark is a good OC, especially when he has supreme talent, but I find him pretty questionable as a HC. I'm really surprised, stunned frankly, that I've heard some Alabama fans recently suggest that they'd be OK with him succeeding Saban.
