What we're witnessing is the greatest dynasty in modern college football history. We need to stop looking at them and start looking at Georgia and Florida. Do what we can to compete with those programs.

I like dark. He is top 5 for me. (Freeze, fleck, mark stoops, Chadwell, and sark. I think sark is the only coordinator i would accept. Barring some miracle like joe Brady. But i would love to open back up that Cali pipeline. Plus i think he could build the most accomplished staff of all the candidates imo.

meh. with Jones it's the sum of all the parts. the s&c program failures. the lack of an answer at QB pre/post Dobbs. how he pissed away what should have been giant opportunities for him and this program to plant themselves on the map in 15 and 16....the over promising in recruiting.......the attrition rate for those 2 great classes being over 30%....the sayings, slogans and sales tactics....

yeah, he won more. big deal. the very next season after having 2 of the best seasons we've had in a while, we went 4-8 and looked bad doing it. he was lipstick on a pig.

Exactly. If they are a three win team, we are a 1-2 win team. Anybody that saw what the officials did to them against Auburn knows they are a four win team along with being far more competitive than our guys in most games. From the bottom to hope for the future in one season. The exact opposite of where we are with Jeremy currently.

Yup LSU and Mizzou both came down to game winning FG’s too iirc

Fair Gus' age and his "want to" worry me the most about him, hard to think a coach who is making more money not to coach than 99% of the NCAA HCs in Division 1 is going to have fire in his belly to win here.


Honestly after seeing the Cure Bowl that's my new top 2 candidates. Chadwell would take the job without question, and despite being a "option" team they hung 318 passing yards and 3 TDs on the board. It's obvious to me that Chadwell isn't just running some gimmick system, he knows his stuff.

That's my concern with Gus too, how much drive does he have left, but I think Fulmer would respect him more. I think Chadwell or Napier would bring a lot more fire but can they recruit SEC caliber players and would Fulmer leave them alone and let them coach? If what's being said about Fulmer meddling with the team is true, then you've got to bring in someone that PF thinks is his equal or fire Fulmer and hire a real AD, that cares about football. I think it's as bad behind the scenes as it is on the field.

Pruitt > Gus

Gus has been mediocre with 5 star QBs and supremely talented defenses.

Pruitt has dealt with JG and pathetic defensive players.

Would ANY of Tennessee’s defensive lineman started at Auburn the past three years?

Gus is trash. Hard pass.

You do realize JP was the one starting JG all this time, right? You also know that his defense was made up of a lot of players HE RECRUITED right? You do realize Gus has beaten Saban several times right?

STOP USUNG JG AS AN EXCUSE FOR ALL 3 YEARS HERE. Year 1...fine. Year 2... i say no but sure I’ll play along. Year 3.... absolutely no excuse. No one is asking you to find cam Newton or Russell Wilson but you mean to tell me in three cycles you can’t find a “mediocre” qb out of high school, juco, or transfer portal. I’m not buying that.

The problem is While he has signed some good players...he has absolutely whiffed on the two most important position groups on both sides of the ball... QB and DL and his development skills elsewhere can’t make up for it.

I thought Chris Low started the "dream job" narrative between Freeze and UT.

It is his dream job but Low knows UT isn’t going to touch Freeze.

This is the biggest reason Pruitt sucks....he cheated in HS by illegally transferring kids. That tells me he can’t coach unless all he has is elite talent.

If he landed Fields, Hurts, Daniels, King, or Tag think how much better the AB position would’ve been. I mean, our scheme would still suck, but we wouldve been better

Sarkisian has been a complete disaster as a HC. He's putting up big numbers now in an offense with at least 3 first round picks he didn't recruit.

I just don't know about that one. People talk about the boosters never getting behind Kiffin again. I think pitching to them that we are gonna go back to the "hiring a Bama coordinator" well one more time after Pruitt has been such a disaster would be an equally difficult sell. I just don't see it.

I'd take him over Kroger brand offense version of Pruitt from Auburn, but that's about it from the names being thrown out.

Outside of the alcohol issues, Sarkisian’s run as HC was far from a disaster. BTW, Kiffin’s winning percentage is only marginally better than Sark’s, especially if you look specifically at P5 record.

Hey Bass, make me a list of all the “Almost” or “we were so close to getting him” .or “he is ours, but then always ends up somewhere at the last second” recruits. That ATL has posted. I bet we would be in the top 10 every year. Not putting ATL on blast, just looking at that list made me think.

He did but he also had the worst season in UT history and his 16 and 17 classes cratered the program. Of course there were some good players in those classes but the misses were so bad and there were a lot. Add Pruitt’s 18 class in and it’s not surprising we suck so bad with an inexperienced HC.

The thing I do give butch a lot of credit for is playing his young, talented players. I have no idea why Pruitt isnt playing the 19 and 20 class more and it will cost him his job

Gus's age? He's only 55... his one trick gimmick offense is his main drawback. No longer considered that "inventive" now everyone has seen it for years. He hit his ceiling early... that's why every Auburn fan I know down here wanted him gone.
