I didn’t say me. Yea I get out a lot but I can say without a doubt I know many that don’t and won’t ever return to getting out as much as they did before.

and yea I can’t wait to get back into Neyland but instead of 4-5 games a year I’m grading toward 1-2 and the coach won’t change that
I’ve been out and about to many different states and I haven’t seen a fear of people being near each other. If anything people are just rdy for this mask BS to end and to be able to go back to normal.

I don't think there are many "camps" at all that "back" Pruitt. I really feel that there is a very very small group of fans that supports him, and Fulmer certainly wants to bring him back.

I think the vast majority of us (I include myself in this group) that believe Fulmer wants to keep Pruitt, we do not support this or support keeping him as coach. We are only stating what seems to be the obvious (Fulmer wants to keep him) and not what we necessarily want to see happen. I think we need to make a change but I've said constantly that I don't see it happening. I dont see Plowman and Boyd blowing everything up and starting over with a new AD and new coach this year. Because I firmly believe they are going to have to get rid of Fulmer if they want a new coach. 2021 will be the year hes replaced.

I wasn’t talking about fans, people here, etc. I was talking about people close to the program, i.e. donors, admins that support Fulmer/Pruitt, and donors and admins that want Pruitt and/or Fulmer fired.

And it was for the limited purpose of explaining why the info we’ve been getting from our normal sources is so variant

Coaching search with an ongoing investigation is probably a significant disadvantage with the pool and negotiations. I'd imagine.
I certainly think you have to have all your ducks in a row regarding the investigation before you (potentially) fire the staff, simply because there is a clause in each contract that stipulates University of Tennessee employees to comply and cooperate with any investigation. I imagine said "cooperation" is harder to get once you fire someone.

But, at this point, it's not an NCAA investigation, and as such, I doubt it would hamper a potential hire.

That's how I feel as well, but to be honest with you, if it were performance-based, I'm not sure why a decision hasn't been made in either direction.

Maybe they feel like their pool of candidates will be the same regardless, but usually you make a decision like this quickly to give the appearance you are steadfast in your chosen direction.

If it were performance-based, there would have been movement weeks ago.

And yes, the primary names that are being tossed around this year likely will be available next year. The coaching carousel has slowed, at least for HCs.

We sent Tyndall packing with a 10 year show cause and zero buyout money, then snagged Barnes. So investigations/potential investigations hampering a potential hire is a fallacy.

Aight, here's something to hold us over until we get some news one way or the other. Hopefully it's coming today.

Your avi? Why did you choose it? Mine's obvious. Smokey wants Freeze in Knoxville. What about yours?
Bring the letters back! Another thing they fcuked up!

This right here is why we will get Pruitt for another season. Freeze (lol at our admin making that move) will still be at Liberty, Napier at ULL, Fickell at Cincy, and Campbell at ISU.

The 22 in state class is so good and will be wrecked by keeping Pruitt another year. It’s time to move on.

And herein lies the problem. Remember how I've been harping on how the university takes fans for granted? They know it really doesn't matter what product they put on the field. Until the fans say enough is enough, nothing will change.
will it though?

feel like we did this in 05, 08, 11, 12, 17....and we're still having the same conversation.

and fans keep going to games, despite it all. the last time i think i remember game day crowds being a real issue was when there were more bama fans in the stands than TN fans in Dooley's last season. past that............

so why is it/should it be different this time?

my guess? it won't be.

What are some of the primary names being tossed around?

Yeah once the investigation stuff hit I felt like things would slow down, the university is being smart imo. You can shave a large chunk off his buyout if things turn up that are "for cause" level bad, and even if you don't get out of the full amount of his contract you will still save some money.

Plus some of the folks on the fence may go from "keep" to "fire" based on what they find out during the investigation.

And that is the root cause of BVS.
It’s “Dumpster fire part 3: the sequel “ and seeing the first 2 , we have a good idea how this one ends.

Meanwhile we see half the other teams in the SEC making the call to end similar situations when they arise.

It’s pretty clear to me that Pruitt isn’t the answer. My fear is that we bring him back next year and the schedule is so easy that he doesn’t have a bad enough year to get fired next year, but he still gets BTFO by all 3 rivals.

And we see Arkansas and Missouri with first year head coaches turning heads...

If he’s back next year, I’d be willing to bet it is for ‘21 and ‘22.

Lol at thinking freeze isn’t the biggest no brainer.
