Everything with the football program is pretty concerning right now
Fulmer is acting like an idiot
I think it’s because he knows Freeze would be in and he’s trying to block it for silly ass personal reasons

Hot take: I think Freeze is a better candidate with another year of rehab and wins below him. I want him and he is my undoubtedly #1. BUT, I think more realistic for him to come here is:

1. Another year under his belt more distanced from Ole Miss days and showing this year was not a "flash in the pan."
2. Fulmer not there

Coaches looking for a good landing spot will leave if they can find one. Repeatedly refusing to take six-month salary reductions shows that some are not all-in. And their refusal, followed by the investigation putting a spotlight on everybody, just made it worse.
The main issue is the incompetence of this University and AD to retain Pruitt. That is the real issue at hand. Couldn’t care less about asst coaches at this point. Even without the investigation Pruitt should have been gone by now. Getting a new staff is just delaying the inevitable and causing more buyout money. I don’t care what asst coaches may come here. As long as Pruitt is at the helm then this program is a complete joke. If Fulmer is truly “digging his heels in” on keeping Pruitt he needs to be gone too. I don’t care what the man did here as a HC if this is what he has chosen.

I get it
I just don’t want another year of Cornbread man

How is this not glaringly obvious to everyone at UT?

Ill say this, remember next year will not be like this year. The schedule will return to normal with almost a month before signing day vs this year where it was before season ended. That makes a difference. Also if you have a hot name, like Freeze, recruiting that first year won't be a large issue. Again, that's why another year away from Ole miss helps.

The head scratcher for me here is this: Fulmer would rather hitch his wagon to a 1 year risk vs. get his mulligan (which he has given 11+ to Pruitt) and severely risk losing his job next year. I just don't get that.

Also IMO, there is no way to keep Pruitt after next year. Unless you absolutely catch lightning in a bottle it won't happen. We play: Bama, UF, UGA, Ole Miss (yikes), UK, Mizzou, and Pitt. Try to explain how there isn't at least 5 losses here.

You say that, but I didn’t think there was any way you could keep him this year. Yet here we are...

I do think it may make it more attractive however with our admin showing they give a coach the benefit of the doubt in a tough year. Now they will face a TON of backlash. Massive financial losses on top of this year, but we are also one year closer to that new ESPN money....

There is 5 losses but we will probably extend the gump if he is 6-6. This is what drives me mad about UT. Nobody legitimately believes he can do it. Yet we are delaying this a year because of what reason??

These awful decisions are why we are such a ****ing laughingstock

If this University keeps Pruitt, I don’t want to hear one word from any insider how this university is run well and we care about winning. Because we obviously don't. You can’t keep a coach who wins three games in a season. And you can’t get blown out every week. The East is not good and we still have talent right now. Plus we actually have good options to hire. This 2021 class is very average and we are going to cost ourselves the 2022 class. Only Ut waits until the program is completely on fire before making a change. I hope Neyland is less than 50k and they can kiss any help in Atlanta good bye. That is not happening, we have already told a couple coaches not to listen to UT coaches anymore because they are not being developed and they will hurt their kids chances at the NFL.

There is zero way we should keep Pruitt right now. It’s a death blow to this program. Yet you are saying he is back.
