What Finebaum is saying

I have never cared what Finebum has to say. He is not going to say anything nice about anyone that is not part of the Tide organization. You can tell by looking at him how much football experience he has.

I realize a lot of you want CJP gone and I understand some of it. I have wondered all season why the D has taken 2 steps back from where they were last year. I believe he should have insisted Bailey get some playing time every game since he knew what to expect from JG. Here's the problem, think about who Tennessee has hired for football and basketball in the last 20 years. I can't be alone in the thinking that we could do way worse can I? I believe CJP will be a very good head coach at some point, I also knew there would be growing pains with a coach without head coaching experience. My hope was that Phil would help him through some of these decisions and give guidance regarding hiring friends. I for one am all for CJP getting next year to see what he can do with a quality QB, but if they are damned and determined then I will say this, NO and I mean NO MORE discount shopping for an up and comer. Bring in another like our usual hires and it's time to stop playing sports. I don't complain about the players or the coaches but I am about done with the Universities hiring process. We look like idiots again on a coach search( and I bet we will) its time for me to take some time off watching football.

Nothing is wrong with Lynyrd Skynyrd... Phenomenal southern rock band... Maybe 2nd best to Marshall Tucker Band... Maybe best, idk...

But YOU KNOW the group of people I described...
I may be one of them. You just insulted about 20m plus “Muricans” and that is a conservative estimate. What kind of person are you? I hope you are not one of those snobby elitists who look down on everybody else that does not fit what a “Murcian” should be in your view.

You folks might not like Finebaum (I’m not moved either way and basically uninterested), BUT, he probably hears and knows more than you might think.

I have no idea about this situation, but the silence is deafening:

No guarantees by Fulmer or UT that Pruitt will return like Texas and VaTech did with their coaches.

Nothing about or from Freeze despite jobs continuing to open up, including a high profile job on The Plains.

That's actually spot on... The entirety of Paul Finebaum's audience are people that say "Murica", have Lynyrd Skynyrd stickers on the backs of their lifted 24 year old 400k mile pickups that they've swapped the engine in 5 times, and say "Cmon mane, it ain't illegal, she's 17..."

What is the year model of that car in you avatar pic?

I believe Freeze would be the most capable coach at UT since Fulmer, and even an upgrade from Fulmer in terms of understanding the modern game. Sure he has baggage but who cares. People want a winner and as long as he’s not repeating past poor choices, he would be welcomed by the vast majority.
Yeah thats the big question(s) tho.

His baggage would come with extra attention from places you dont want it.

The biggest question I have is can he change his tactics and still recruit what you have to get?
Or do you have to roll the dice and just hope he has found a better way to cover it up?

Keeping in mind, (before they vacated) he was 19-21 in the SEC. The idea that he's a homerun is far from certain. And thats assuming he doesnt get fired and leave you with a bigger calamity.

Paul Finebaum answered a callers question about CJP’s future and he said many believe that there’s a replacement waiting in the wings. Who is it? Freeze?

I’m not advocating for Pruitt to lose his job. I think he could pan out. Maybe. The evidence thus far shows that teams quit on him. They’re unprepared for far lesser competition and he gets them up for the big games. So far he honestly reminds me of McEwain. I couldn’t care less about who Finebaum is supposedly talking to or Finebaum’s audience, but one has to wonder who he would be referring to as a replacement. A lot of people on here believe that a change is coming as well and it’s a foregone conclusion that it’s Freeze.

Season is not over yet, what is there to say?

I would be shocked if Fulmer hired Freeze. I just hope it's not Steele. I know he was one of the candidates Fulmer interviewed last time.
Fulmer isn’t hiring anyone it’s the family that’s has buildings on campus that can fix this and he isn’t to fond of Fulmer ether.

It would be hilarious if Auburn fans had their own "Schiano Sunday" with Steele, and Tennessee hires him. Inject the irony into my veins
