From respected poster on VQ...

“Fulmer will do what the power brokers tell him to do. It is out of his hands now. This one has gone from a slam dunk he returns to at best a 50/50 proposition. It isnt just the team's performance and his very questionable game management decisions There is a lot going on internally the power brokers are learning about. This past weekend was not a good one for CJP sans three hours on Saturday afternoon”
Not criticizing your info but I think everyone can combine several public reports from our local media and put that together without being any type of insider.

This “insider” crap gets so old. The fans are all about every coach we have, and they’re beloved throughout the entire program until the fan base decides they’re ready to get rid of him (usually within an average of 4 years). Then, those same things that person did that were so beloved are now repugnant and worthy of firing. Also, inevitably we get “insiders” then talking about all of the bad things going on in the program. Then, the coach finally gets fired and the fan base convinces itself that the new guy will be some “home run” only to find out there are only about 3-4 guys at a give. Time who are home runs...and they all have jobs where they’re happy. So, you end up hiring a coordinator, a group of 5 guy or a retread. Then, the fan base convinces themselves that everything that guy does is great and bashes the last guy. Rinse and repeat.

For once it seems so easy for Tennessee. A proven coach who has publicly stated he wants the job and a fledgling coach we could fire to obtain him. I have a feeling we Florida 4th and 14 this somehow.

Whatever Bruin.

I could see coaches preferring Tennessee over Auburn.

Our expectations are high. But we've been so beaten down we just want to be respectable again for awhile. Work our way up.

Auburns expectations are out of control. They clearly won't be satisfied unless they get to Bama/UGA levels. Plus whoever they hire has to play Orgeron/Jimbo/Lane/Leach/Saban/Kirby plus an emerging Pittman every single year. That's a murderers row of games. The west is gonna eat itself and somebody is going to suffer.

Tennessees schedule is tough. But KY/Vandy/SC/Mizzou is more manageable to get a ahead of.

Tennessee has the easier path to Atlanta and a beaten down fan base ready to erupt over literally any big win.
