Can cornfirm....he’s about an hour south of me. Its cold raining like a mf out here this morning. This guy is out here running sprints and I contemplated letting the dog chit in the house because I didn’t want to go out there.

I also live in Concord. It was pouring all morning and I chose to change the kid and make breakfast for him over taking the dog out this morning.

Whereabouts in Concord do you live?

Smh at the all or nothing comments. Pruitt doesn’t suck as a coach. He sucks at picking a QB to run his program. He has shown ability to develop players at all other positions. He is stuck in old ways of playing ball as well. If he finds a QB and stays aggressive he can be good. Who knows if he can do that.
He sucks at being a head coach. Doesn’t mean he can’t figure it out at some point whether that’s here or at another place down the line. He can’t micromanage to the point of suffocation. Ansley isn’t a good coordinator, move him to safeties and if he doesn’t get fired and does get Muschamp get the hell out of his way and let him run the defense. As far as Offense he needs an innovative young mind and get the hell out of their way for the most part. If he holds on to this antiquated style of football then he needs to get fired even though I think he already should be. That’s as calm as I can say it.

Kind of like Dabo did at Clemson. Hire the right people to do a job, get out of their way and let them do those jobs. And for the record, by no means am I comparing Pruitt to Dabo. Just saying, Clemson fans were ready to run him off before he let go of the reins a bit.

I know what you’re saying, but Pruitt isn’t Dabo. Dabo is a statistical anomaly and I think it’s stupid trying to be the university that tries to replicate. I don’t hold the power but if I did getting Hugh and probably Gus as OC at a discount since Auburn will pay him millions would be the move.

Pruitt could help himself even a little if he’d come out and say some sh*t like

“this is Tennessee and our results are unacceptable. We’ve made mistakes. They’ll be corrected. I’ll do everything in my power to make sure a season like this never happens again. It’s time to put up or shut up”

Speak that sh*t into existence. Try SOMETHING, ANYTHING.

Wouldn’t change anything that’s happened but at least would show some fire.

I'm not advocating trying to replicate the approach Clemson took with Dabo. I'm simply offering an example to highlight what you mentioned in your post. Pruitt knows football...I think we can all agree on that. He has been very successful at too many previous stops to argue otherwise. I think you're on to something. If he can make the right hires, get out of his own way and let those hires do their jobs, he might find that success all Vol fans have been longing for.

No he doesn’t suck. He is the same coach that was piloting that 8 game winning streak. **** happens! A lot of us I dare say most are behind him 100%!

Win 1 and 7 - vs a fired HC
Win 2 - Non power 5 team
Win 3 - against a WR at QB
Win 4 and 8 - vs a fired HC and a 1st time HC that would beat the brakes off us now
Win 5 vs a fired HC
Win 6 - a good quality win

I bought into the hype too, but take the orange glasses off for a second.. its really not that impressive..

and you are 100% wrong when it comes to fans being behind him... MAYBE 10%

Your opinion. I respect it. But some of so called Vols fans got to understand it may take 5 years from the time Pruitt started to get all 3 levels where it needs to be. Depth takes years to acquire. Qb position is more often than not a hit or miss. I am with Pruitt. Thanks for your response. Go Vols!

I’m behind the VOLS 100% . Regardless of who the coaches are.

Pruitts problem was he picked the wrong OC the first time. One that was terrible at choosing and recruiting a QB which put them two classes behind at the position. His current OC will be in year 3 next yr but only have one QB on roster that he fully recruited/targeted.

2nd mistake was changing his initial defensive staff. He had a great group of teachers but he wanted more recruiting and goes out and hires guys that will grind recruiting but ended up in a pandemic year where they can only coach and can’t grind the trail. He gave up play calling way too early after year 1 when the defense wasn’t fully clicking yet. He went away from what he was best at. It’s pretty obvious he took play calling back at end of this yr and we aggressive again.

He himself is a very good coach/teacher that has dug himself into a hole where he tried to free himself up to be a Hc and finds himself now trying to coach every position on the team.

The team got really lucky with that 8 game winning streak last year and got really unlucky with the COVID situation this year in regards to development. I think given time Pruitt could be a 8-9 game winning coach on a regular basis. The question is do we wait to see if/can that happen or find someone else that should do that easily. Glad it is not my $$ or my decision

What are you basing this on?

I can't think of one position group that is better than when he got here.

Then that 10% is following my IG page. Every time I’ve made a “fire pruitt” post I get bombarded in the comments by fans telling me not to (this page has like 9K followers too so it’s not like it’s the same 8-9 people

My kid plays college football and if you can’t cheer for your team regardless of the coach than your not a true “fan”. It’s not your team if you’re a quitter when it gets tough. Didn’t say i loved the coach just my Vols. Went to my first game in 1983 and have loved the Orange 🍊 ever since, good or bad. Btw, my family will be in attendance this weekend for those boys who play their last game in Neyland . GBO

Making a speech like you stated here reminds of a political debate with talking points and no substance. Meaningless and irrelevant. I would laugh if I heard any coach say that. If some coach wants to convince me he is legit let him describe in detail his offense and defensive schemes and the managerial style he would use in the program as regards to the players, support staff, coaching staff and academic standards.

you're a part of the problem..

if you go to your favorite restaurant, and they get your order wrong, will you go back? sure!!! mistakes happen
you go back the next week, your favorite dish went up $3, they get your order wrong again, will you go back? yeah most likely..
you go back the next week, they get your order wrong again, you say something about it, and they get rude with you over it. Will you go back? ehh I'm gonna go somewhere else..
a month goes by, you're really craving your favorite dish... you go back, they get it wrong AGAIN, went up on price AGAIN, you complain, and they spit in your food....

I bet you won't go back to that restaurant until there's a new manager/owner in place no matter how much you love your favorite dish..

Tennessee football is my favorite dish.. but my food has been spat in.. I won't be going back until there's a change.. if that makes me "not a true fan" so be it

good for you, We’ll cheer on our seniors who bled and fought for our Orange 🍊. God bless

That 8 game winning streak between bouts with Alabama and Georgia was fool's gold. We weren't beating teams we shouldn't have beaten during that streak. We won games we should have won, and this year, with a star-studded OL and another year of experience, we didn't beat the teams we should have. Not only that, we couldn't even stay competitive with them in the second half of games.
