I have no problem with them “changing their rules” in a season where everybody has had to roll with the flow. Never a fan of bureaucracy anyway. Also not a Buckeye fan, but them flouting the conference overlords in the first place and now having them kowtow to their big dog has a sense of justice to it.
I hope Northwestern pulls the upset.

My list:

1. Cristobal
2. Campbell
3. Freeze
4. Napier
5. Chadwell
6. Anyone not named Gus or Kiffin (cause this one ain't happening)

I think Cristobal is overrated. Just another Saban tree coach. Sucked at his last stop. He can recruit, no doubt, but I mean Oregon isn’t exactly killing it.

Just so everyone is clear.

Gus did not win a National Championship as Auburn head coach. He did so as an OC with Cam Newton.

He has a National Championship game appearance, which he lost to Florida State.

While both of these plays absolutely count, because they happened, let us not forget this season was when the famous "Pick Six" kick return vs Alabama and the "Prayer at Jordan-Hare" tipped TD pass against UGA happened. Both are considered in football, "miraculous" and statistically, this season was insanely closer to being a 3 loss Auburn team than a team that played for the NC.

Just so we have that clear.

Weird you put out Cam Newton but neglect to mention that Jameis Winston was on that FSU team coming off his Heisman win...a game in which Kevin Steele allowed FSU to score 21 in the 4th quarter.

If Auburn hired Cristobal, they would have their own "...but Butch couldn't even beat Dooley!" moment.

Gus beat an Oregon team last year (with a true freshman QB in his first college game) that went on to go 12-2, win the Pac 12 + Rose Bowl, and finished #5 in the country.

Someone posted Gus's record earlier and said he dropped off after his 5th season. That's 5 years of big time, SEC success!

If he still wants to coach, then he's the top candidate available. It's all lining up for us to get a proven, experienced SEC head coach.

He would be the best coach in the SEC East if TN will make the move.

Gus should not have been fired. It was a desperate, dumb move. At least the timing was. He is only fired because of Alabama and he’s been there 8 years. Which is a lifetime in college coaching years these days. Fueled by desperation because they think Tennessee is going to fire Pruitt and will compete for a candidate. Don’t let Auburn’s tomfoolery distract you from the fact he is a good coach.

Thank Auburn for the coach and the $22 million we get to keep. That’s found moneys!

This is very obvious. AP is only ever negative about HB. It is clear he's been told that HB isn't good. At this point we shouldn't believe anything this staff thinks about QB's. HB is clearly the best overall QB on this team.
Whomever has kept HB from playing needs to go. Whether that is Weinke, Chaney, Pruitt or all three. Our program really brought in one of GA's all time best high school qbs, built our whole 20' class around him, made him ride the bench watching JG garbage all year, and peddled to the media that he's not good before he has even played

Like this list, but I'd still try a Hail Mary and talk to Bob Stoops, see if he's enjoying retirement or has the itch to coach again. Probably Chris Petersen as well.

Contrary to Pruitt, Gus looks like he actually enjoys the game in the sideline. Love the fire.

My list is

1. Urban (if we have the money for it)
2. Cristobal
3. Freeze
4. Kiffin
5. Mahlzan
6. Herman
7. Richt

Stop hiring head coaches with no winning power 5 experience

1. Urban
2. Freeze
3. Kiffin
4. Fleck
5. Cristobal
6. Napier
7. Malzahn

But I think you start by throwing the book at Urban and let him say no.

If that's true Auburn is dumb for dumping Malzhan with no plan. Auburn currently has one of the worst classes in the SEC, so I am unsure what they are trying to salvage.
I think they have a plan but 80% of kids sign on ESD. They don’t want to lose their best commits.

I really want to know who in the world was telling AP and Hubbs that Bailey wasn't good enough to play ball here.
