I hope Northwestern pulls the upset.I have no problem with them “changing their rules” in a season where everybody has had to roll with the flow. Never a fan of bureaucracy anyway. Also not a Buckeye fan, but them flouting the conference overlords in the first place and now having them kowtow to their big dog has a sense of justice to it.
Just so everyone is clear.
Gus did not win a National Championship as Auburn head coach. He did so as an OC with Cam Newton.
He has a National Championship game appearance, which he lost to Florida State.
While both of these plays absolutely count, because they happened, let us not forget this season was when the famous "Pick Six" kick return vs Alabama and the "Prayer at Jordan-Hare" tipped TD pass against UGA happened. Both are considered in football, "miraculous" and statistically, this season was insanely closer to being a 3 loss Auburn team than a team that played for the NC.
Just so we have that clear.
If Auburn hired Cristobal, they would have their own "...but Butch couldn't even beat Dooley!" moment.I think Cristobal is overrated. Just another Saban tree coach. Sucked at his last stop. He can recruit, no doubt, but I mean Oregon isn’t exactly killing it.

Whomever has kept HB from playing needs to go. Whether that is Weinke, Chaney, Pruitt or all three. Our program really brought in one of GA's all time best high school qbs, built our whole 20' class around him, made him ride the bench watching JG garbage all year, and peddled to the media that he's not good before he has even playedThis is very obvious. AP is only ever negative about HB. It is clear he's been told that HB isn't good. At this point we shouldn't believe anything this staff thinks about QB's. HB is clearly the best overall QB on this team.

Someone posted Gus's record earlier and said he dropped off after his 8th season. That's 8 years of success!
If he still wants to coach, then he's the top candidate available. It's all lining up for us to get him
My list is
1. Urban (if we have the money for it)
2. Cristobal
3. Freeze
4. Kiffin
5. Mahlzan
6. Herman
7. Richt
Stop hiring head coaches with no winning power 5 experience
