My problem with Gus is I don’t think he develops QBs very well. That is imperative in today’s game. Bo Nix isn’t very good. I thought Jarrett Stidham would kill it at Auburn, but he was very pedestrian. Sean White and Jeremy Johnson were average at best. Now Nick Marshall was good, but he was a different kind of player.

There are degrees of variation.

Gus doesn't win enough games, and Pruitt doesn't win enough games, but Gus wins way more than Pruitt.

Ole Miss does not have the sophisticated booster system like an Alabama, Auburn, or Tennessee have. When you recruit kids to big time programs, the apparatus swoops in and just takes care of it. Ole Miss isn't as sophisticated, so they have to do things like getting the coaches themselves involves directly in payments. It's why SMU got busted but none of their biggest SWC rivals (like Texas and Texas A&M, who were doing the exact same things) did.

Sorry for ranting about this but she needs to shut her damn mouth, those bastards up there were arrogant enough to cancel their season and tell everyone else how to feel. When that didn't happen and everyone told them to shove it up their ass they sure didn't want to miss out on potential playoff money. So screw her and screw the big ten........ Rant over, for now

I'd be shocked if that happened. I know Steele's a VFL, but I'm not even big on him as a DC. Can't imagine he'll be a great HC.

Tennessee has this mantel now. It's time to let some other program have a turn.

I'm very concerned with how the word 'mantel' is being used above. If we reverse the last two letters, I think we get the intended word. Another VN masterpiece.

Freeze took Ole Miss to heights they had never achieved? 2003 Cut went 10-3 (7-1) there matching Freeze's best seasons, except Freeze lost a 2nd SEC game and John Vaught won 3 national titles while there in 3 10 win seasons...

It's like you've fixated on Freeze cause he manages to beat Saban twice, but you ignore that Gus has beaten Nick more often and as HC went to 2 SEC Championship games, winning 1 and playing in the National title game.

Yep. The big ten thought they could use her and her ilk to cancel all of cfb. Back fired on them big time. And now the big ten is changing their rules so Ohio st can get the playoffs. You can make it up!

He's been a great DC at Auburn, and honestly is the only reason Gus wasn't fired about 2-3 years ago.

In a lot of people's minds, Steele never has been able to shake that 70-spot he gave up to West Virginia in the Orange Bowl when he was Dabo's DC at Clemson.
