Read that earlier, and laughed. Such a dbag
He could be sued for performance issues on the contract. Which I sure weren’t part of his because ut ad is inept. He should have a clause that says he must put forth best efforts to seek similar employment to offset uts liability, not a 35k a year intern.

This whole bs about not being able to afford it went out the window when Vandy, SC, and Auburn all made it happen just fine. Don’t give me any bs about us paying off other buyouts etc. With endowments etc UT could buyout 10 coaches and keep on trucking just fine. It’s about wanting to win and UT has shown they don’t care about it so frankly why should I?

players are so f’n dumb.

No, they aren’t. We choose our doctors, lawyers, financial advisers, etc. based on relationships. Sure, we want them to be competent, but we also expect to have some relationship. Players do the same thing, and I don’t know why fans question that. Malzahn hasn’t been incompetent and has put players in the NFL. Nothing wrong with players saying they like their coach because they certainly know them more than we do.

Endowment has nothing to do with paying football coaches. But it’s still a point of discussion.

I’ve never thought much of Gus. But, I’ve never looked at it from that angle either. You are right, he could be the best HC in the east.
He'd do better here than he did at Auburn. The East is not near as strong as the west and hasn't been for a few years. It makes sense to me.

My qualifications have been:
SEC head coaching experience
beat Saban

That's Freeze, Gus, and Miles. (Not many in here like Miles either)

What QB has he developed well? I feel the game has caught up to his spread tactics and has moved to such a QB-centric game that Gus might really struggle at another SEC job.

My money says he’s learned from his issues and he does well
Agree

Not saying he should ever be given the keys to Tennessee again, but theoretically, if he has learned from his failures, I bet he could be that consistent 8 win coach here with occasional higher 10+ win seasons

Oh well... second chances don’t always come
